It would be nice to have a mini fridge in the room.

The hotel is very central, within walking distance of the old town, cable car, city, waterfront and lots of restaurants. The staff is friendly and helpful, even when you arrive in the middle of the night. The breakfast is extensive, with one of the most generous fresh fruit arrays I have seen on a breakfast buffet. The rooftop pool was wonderful, even in early April. Try to get a room with a balcony, so you will be able to dry your swimwear outside. The room was a decent size, versus the hotel rooms I had in Lisbon.

I would have liked a fridge in the room included. That is my reason for 9/10 And maybe more coffee / milk in the room Breakfast was nice but also would have liked more variety in hot food as was there for a week

The rooms were very tired and, while generally clean and a nice big clean comfortable bed there were some details that made it feel less comfortable: a funny smell in the room on the day I arrived probably due to the mop that was used. There was a hair in the sink and the menu literature on the table had dirty oily finger prints all over it. But other than this, the quality of cleaning was better on the following days.

The staff were all excellent and went out of their way to be helpful.

Pool is not heated on the top floor, I did not have wetsuit with me :) We did try but couldn't stay longer than few teeth-shattering minutes.

The location was superb, the staff helpful. The parking started weird, but that was an issue with the booking app not refreshing messages. On arrival I planned to quickly stop and pay for the parking, but this blew the fuse of the gentleman taking care of parking. He did not speak English and did not let me park anywhere, until the super helpful hotel staff helped out.

The bedrooms were very tired. The food offering was poor - seemed like they were very understaffed. Synthetic smell in main reception.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, they were really great. The pool area and terrace were very satisfactory. Good location.

My only objections are the bathroom - the window could not be opened and the old door should be replaced, otherwise everything was fine

Good price, location within a 10-minute walk from the total center of the city, friendly staff, welcome drink, clean room, tasty and rich breakfast included in the price of accommodation, swimming pool on the roof of the hotel with a nice view. I will recommend the hotel to friends who are going to Madeira.

I found the bed uncomfortable.

The staff were welcoming and friendly and I loved the welcome drink on arrival. Nothing is too much trouble and my room was cleaned to perfection each day. The location is great. Close to the old town, seafront, cable car and shops.

Overall this was a very good experience, so nothing to point out on this.

The staff and their service were really nice. They really tried to please us and always greeted us with a smile. The location was perfect, very close to the city center and the beach whilst being quiet and reserved. The bedroom is really simple, so don't expect luxury (but the price is really adjusted). The breakfast is good: a lot of fresh fruit, different types of bread and so on. Also, a good positive point was the rooftop and the swimming pool on there.

The orange juice at breakfast did not taste like natural. The furniture and overall interior is a bit old (but still everything works, everything's clean).

We liked the location, AAA+++. The staff was very accomodating and helpful. The pool and the terrace are nice addition.

Refrigerators were available for rent, but that they were not in every room may make me think twice about booking again for a longer stay. I'd be nice if one could order drinks or snacks from the pool area. It seems set-up for that, but it was closed the entire time I was there. Breakfast was a bit meh. Could use a bit more variety.

The hotel is overall very good value for money. The location is central Funchal, and the rooms have a little balcony. I found the staff exceptionally friendly.

The plug in air freshener in lobby seating area gave off a strong ‘artificial’ odour. Was unpleasant when sitting there.

Location, breakfast offerings, staff, cleanliness, pool. Felt safe. My room was at back so it was quiet. I understand from others that rooms in front were noisier.

Not the cleanest ever! Could be a little bit more clean. The bathrooms need a makeover

This is a super nicely located hotel, it’s not the nicest I’ve been to but for what we needed and just a couple nights it was more than enough. The best is incredibly comfortable and the breakfast is great, but the 60s styled hotel and not the cleanest ever does pull out rating down a little. Staff is wonderfully nice and this is right in the heart of Funchal.

Amazing roof top pool in the centre of funchal ,spent every evening in the pool area watching the sun go down and the Town light up ,The staff are very friendly and the cleaners are meticulous, The area around the Hotel has loads of hidden bars in narrow streets well worth searching for ,definitely do the west island full day tour and the lift up to the top of the island is well worth it
