“The staff was great. They have upgraded my reservation from standard to large family room for free, good English speaking, smiling. A buffet for breakfast would give you a lot of choices and combinations for a good start of the day. And it was also a breakfast with a view on the city. The location is great (just across the street from the main train station and 100 m from the subway), where you are only 2 stations away from the centre.”
“To be honest, we had a bit of a rocky start to our stay. There was a bit of miscommunication about our room and the hotel was full so we could not change rooms, but the staff went above and beyond to help us remedy the situation. The sun rises early (5A) and our room faced east and as we were there for almost a week, we wanted to be able to sleep in (at least til 8/9A or so some days- vacay and all...). The staff actually went out and bought room darkening material and made a set of curtains for our wall of windows - Mind blown!!! This is beyond customer service and now any travelers who come after us, can also sleep in when they wish if they stay in the King Suite!
The breakfast every morning was lovely, as well as the awesome women who served and helped us with it. The location was unbeatable and we always had parking available for our car. The hotel was a little set back so was in a quiet area but right near all of the shops and restaurants.
And the rooftop was excellent for seeing the hot air balloons in the morning! Seriously. You know how you see pictures of people on the roof of a hotel and the balloons look they are right next to them and you think, yeah right...photoshop... It's freaking NOT photoshop! We watched 3 balloons literally float directly overhead and could count the people in the basket as we waved to them. It depends on the direction of the wind and the pilots of course, but this hotel was right in the path one morning so we got the chance to see them right above and next to us. It was crazy and awesome and a unique once in a lifetime experience.
