  “Beautiful hotel in accordance to Tunisian standards. The room have AC so can be heated in Winter and cooled in Summer. The bed was comfortable and the staff was helpful for our questions. There are a couple of restaurants at walking distance. Perfect stay while riding in the area.”

  “Truly unique stay in a troglodyte in a very friendly town. The hosts were such nice humans with lots of positive energy and not pushy. Shared bathrooms which was expected and the rooms have lots of beds - I only needed one but was comfortable and surprisingly cosy inside and warm. The food was lovely.”

  “I am very impressed by the host, who spoke very good English, came to the train station to pick us up in the middle of the night. He also helped us to buy bus tickets at the bus station and was very welcoming :) The apartment was spacious, it had all the necessary facilities!”

  “The breakfast was local, so perhaps not to everyone's liking. But they served blue milk, and at the Lars Homestead, what more could you want? The Wifi is only in the reception and courtyard area, but when you are in Matmata, are you really there to be on the internet? If you want western standard 5 star bathrooms, this isn't it. There are shared bathrooms, but they are clean. I mean, you are in a troglodyte home, so if you expect that, that's your fault. But it's cleaner than I expected. The rooms are cool, literally and figuratively, and the beds comfortable. It was less rustic than I expected!”

  “Extremely good value. Very good dinner and breakfast included (you can get beer as well). All the staff were really nice and very welcoming. Cave room was big. Whole place is kept nicely clean and tidy.”
