    “The location”

  • “Not a full size kitchen but a kitchenette , well it served my purpose as my stay was short, most of the time time I ate out with friends so no complains. rooms are very well lit, small balcony in front of the house to enjoy evening tea. the surrounding had pin drop silence.”

“The staff were absolutely lovely and could not have been more helpful. The setting was beautiful.”

  • Rotorua Central Hosted B&B Review score: 10

“This place was so easy to find, even though it was dark when we arrived. Jan, our hostess, made us feel welcome, and we settled in for a very comfortable night's sleep. The living area, separate from the bedroom, made so much sense as one of us had some work to catch up on. The hot breakfast Jan served us was very welcome. She is warm, caring and very helpful and introduced us to her lovely garden. We had an early start the next day and she happily agreed to serve us an early breakfast to save us time. This place is in a quiet and charming neighbourhood yet is so central. We had a car and drove around, but the beach is close by and has many dining options.”

  • Haven Homestay Rotorua Review score: 10

“I had a delightful stay at Haven Homestay Rotorua on Sophia Street. I booked the delux room with ensuite bathroom. The room was lovely with an attractive and comfortable bed and windows looking down on beautifully maintained formal garden. My ensuite bathroom was fabulous with double vanity, walk-in shower and even a bath tub!!!! The room was set up a like a hotel room, complete with tea/coffee facilities, huge walk-in wardrobe with robes, a room safe, minibar fridge with drinks and snacks. The lounge was gorgeous with sofas surrounding a fireplace and French doors opening onto a patio under wisteria trees. I can only imagine how nice it would be here in summer to better enjoy the private garden. Mike and Peter were great hosts, so knowledgeable of Rotorua and its attractions and I especially enjoyed the cooked breakfast they served. Haven Homestay is in a very good location, on a quiet street full of trees, away from busy traffic and close to the geothermal parks and Maori Cultural Centres of Whakarewarewa and Te Puia. Shops are just a 5 min drive away.”
