“The Homestay is located in Waena, between Jayapura and Sentani. It’s perfect for the proximity to the airport and the beautiful Sentani lake, and away from the busy streets of Jayapura. I stayed in this Homestay twice. It’s an island of tranquility. The house is beautifully decorated with papuan art. The rooms are spacious, mine had a ceiling fan (which came in handy, and I much prefer as opposed to AC). Everything is extremely clean and well organised. You can use the kitchen, there is water dispenser, kettle, toaster, and even a sandwich toaster! Bet sheets and towels were provided. And the WC and shower were also spacious, very clean and comfortable. The host of the home was very helpful and welcoming. She made sure I felt comfortable all the time, and engaged in very interesting conversations. Thank you Rut!!”
“This very tidy guest house is a few minutes walk from beach and main road. Very close to Rock n roll coffee shop. Which was excellent. A warm welcome and excellent breakfast, probably the best I had in 3 weeks in Indonesia.”
“Meili is very friendly, very helpful, prepared the best breakfast (we even got selfmade Avocado cream); she helps organising things. You feel Luke home. we Hard the room upstairs -it was super clean and organised with love. Its nice to sit in the garden and recover after your long journey of a busy and noisy day in the town. Perfect start for our adventure holiday!”
“The hosts are amazing: super friendly, open and knowledgeable about the region and Papuan culture. Facilities are very clean, location is ideal in between Sentani Lake (and airport) and Jayapura center.”

“Best stay in Jayapura! Thanks Ruth for the awesome and blessed stay We will back for sure”
“Perfect place to stay! Homestay with garden and terrace, in a nice quiet neighbourhood. All super clean, and very nice atmosphere with Rut and her family, super helpful, very friendly and providing very good information about Jayapura and Papua, with books to learn more. Is also a great place for first timers in Papua to know how to move around. Rut helped me to rent scooter from neighbours, best way to discover Jayapura and around. Many beautiful things to see in the area. Homestay is good location, near Sentani lake and half way to airport, half way to Jayapura to get traveling permits and so on. A place to come back for sure! Loved it!”
“Clean and nice room, friendly and helpfull staff. We really recomend this guest house”
“the room was at the top with a balcony and was very nice. The breakfast was good, scrambled eggs, fruit and toast. The owner was not there but was available by WhatsApp and was really nice and helpful and good at answering any questions and booking the whale shark trip which was a amazing!”
“Great place to stay”
Ranked 1 out of 3 in the Papua region, as well as being 1 of 7 for B&Bs and inns in Jayapura.
