“We booked a single room with balcony, equipped well (has fridge, hair dryer). Walking distance to the city centre. Free public parking if you find a spot.”
“The hotel is built into the Roman walls of Diocletian's Palace and evidence of this is everywhere in the clever, stylish conversion. The ground floor restaurant/lobby area was the double height stables from the Roman period, it is thought. The hotel is less than five minutes walk from the seafront and one minute walk to the City Museum (currently closed for renovation) and the central peristyle gathering space. You are right in the centre of everything.
The breakfast was from a limited menu of eggs (done however you wanted), toast, ham and cheese and delicious coffee. All served at the restaurant table - either inside or on the front pavement or back garden. It was very good value and the price adjusted to what you actually had. We had a full evening meal twice at the Leonis Restaurant (both inside and outside) and these were the best (of generally good ) meals we had during a week in Split and surrounding area. The fish was especially good - and the homemade desserts!
Everything exceeded our expectations and we were overwhelmed by the kindness of everyone at the hotel and in Split in general. Among many kindnesses we experienced in the hotel was the lady who came up in the very early morning when we were leaving to ask if she could take our luggage down and the complementary bruschetta which we were offered a couple of times when we came back for a drink in the hotel - which we did often because it was so well located and such a pleasant environment, Embarrassingly almost everyone in the hotel and in Split spoke near-perfect English and it was great to chat and find out so much about the area and its history.”
“Staff were very accommodating considering that we were travelling with our 5 month old daughter. This is probably the 4th time staying at this hotel due to its proximity to SCT Trogir and Adria Docks making it very convenient for my work. It's also only a stone's throw from Trogir old town, making it ideal for an evening walk into town for dinner.”
“We were delighted with this hotel. The staff were warm, friendly, efficient, competent and completely professional. The suite was outstanding with plenty of comfortable furniture. As well as an excellent breakfast buffet, hot egg dishes were cooked to order. Evenings at the rooftop restaurant and bar were a delight, with great meals and superb views over the historic city. The laundry service was fast and efficient. Located in the old town we could step out of the hotel and into history.”
