We where not told that the restaurant was closed during summer. One of the reasons we picked this hotel. Went to the gotthards on the outside. It was basically empty but still had to reserve. We asked to reserve and they where so blunt with us. Felt super hostile. We had to walk outside to a different restaurant. The morning: Was also told off by the staff at the breakfast for sitting in the wrong? Side when all the seatings where taken and it was mayhem. Also! Only one kind of bread as a gluten free option. Nothing else what so ever. And the butter was for everyone. You can not share butter and everything else when it comes to gluten intolerance… very bad. Had little to nothing to eat. For the price it was very disappointing. The rooms where very small as well. Super cramped. Good for one person but not two. Cute building.

The decor of the hotel is a little strange - not offensive, just peculiar. Gothic is not quite the right word, but very dark. Not a problem at all really, just different.

The room was quiet and comfortable. The curtains worked well against the almost perpetual daylight, so sleeping was not a problem. We had to leave early to catch a train, and they volunteered to give us a take-away breakfast, which was ready when we checked out. There are plenty of eating places nearby, and we lucked on a really nice restaurant.

The decoration of the room and the hotel in total was amazing. Like being in a ship. The room was very cosy, clean and quite.The bed was very convenient. There was everything inside for a pleasant stay. The breakfast was amazing. The location was perfect. I was impressed with that hotel. Highly recommended.

Nowhere to park car when you check in, very limited space !! Parking attendant, of course know this, so was just waiting to fine us. We all got parking tickets in less then 10 minutes during check in procedure. We had to ask several people for Front Desk, since it just was a clutter of cafe tables scattered and people dragging their luggage between those tables left and right. Disorganized, more or less like Spain, but its actually Umeå Sweden. Dark and mushy throughout the hotel, what are they thinking ?!

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Umea. Exceptional check-in experience with a beautiful and helpful young lady. The hotel and room design is very nice. Due to our ferry connection we needed an early breakfast, which was arranged by the staff. We highly recommend this property.

Very tiny room, even for a solo traveler, didn't feel totally clean, since I found a champagne cork and a plastic lid under the furniture, no fridge with beverages in the room, no coffee machine, bad Wi-Fi , a bit pricey.

Breakfast, room on first floor, closeness to the train station, very kind staff, the restaurant in the same building.

There were some lights behind the bed that can’t be turned off so the curtains block most of it so it is only a small problem but it was the only thing I could think of.

I loved the size of the room, the bath tub, the food was incredible and the location was brilliant.

Even the concept was great, the execution was quite poor. The whole hotel felt dark and not comfortable. The room was small, contained no wardrobe or minibar/fridge. One of the biggest minus points was the cleanness, it was crazy dusty. At breakfast I tired 5! cups and 3 plates before I found a clean one. The place for breakfast was also very small and crowded and not enjoyable - considering how much we paid for the room - very disappointing!!!!

The hotel concept was great and the history behind it very interesting. Also, the personnel was absolutely friendly and helpful! The location of the hotel was in the middle of the city with great walking opportunities. The restaurant belonging to the hotel was great, the food was delicious and the service very friendly

Rooms ... at least the room I received. It was designed in astonishing way. Very dark and "light eating" colours, not practically furnished. The design theme - some seafarer idea - was not attractive. I actually in a joking manner described it to some colleagues as " ... the designer must have been high on LSD after having snowed in the TV series "the Adams family" ... "

Restaurant was quite good. Location fine. Staff to expection and at service.

The room was very cold the heating didn't do anything for the room.. rad was hot but room was like a fridge! I asked for a double bed one large bed! And it was 2 small beds pushed together not good enough for the money!

The colors/design is a bit dark so from first look at photos online, it looked a bit gloom. But impression in real life is really nice

This was one of the best hotel experiences we’ve had in a very long time. One of those rare occasions where everything just works, from perfect water pressure and hot water in the shower, good storage space in the room, comfortable room temperature, excellent bed, sufficient power sockets for charging devices, a really good hair dryer (very rare for hotels!), excellent breakfast and dinner restaurant, and all of it topped off with really kind staff which was incredibly service minded, smiling, and helpful. There’s no fridge or water cooker in the room so we had a cooker and ice buckets brought to the room and it was offered with great and genuine smiles.
