Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

CanadaThe general items that were usually supplied with lodging in the same category were missing, such as toilet papers, sufficient towel sets, kitchen towels. body wash ... etc. We have to ask the front desk for them before they were delivered. The kitchen flat wares, pot and pans ... etc. were barely minimal. We had 4 people and only 4 sets of plates, knives and forks were supplied. All these small issues were a little annoying.
Location was good except that it was a long walk from the hotel to the main street. Returning to the hotel at night was a bit scared because the street was quiet and dark and sometime with no street lights.

ItalyThe stove was filthy and could not be used even though we asked for it to be cleaned. Often we got towels that were torn and had black marks on them. The price we paid for a month's stay was high for Bangkok and not up to the standard of the price. Not much in the kitchen really old pots and utensils looked like came from spare pieces from someones kitchen

The swimming pool situated at the roof top is cool. I had beautiful view of the city's golden lights on the rooftop at night. Clean and comfortable beds, one won't have to worry about making tea as everything is in the room. One won't have to black out due to thirst because they provide enough water and the receptionists are of great help.

JapanThe hotel’s attention to security needs to improve. We were taken to the room on 2F but the window locks were broken so people walking outside could possibly jump in to our room. We were later invited to another room on upper floor, but again the window locks were not workable. I saw a lot of dead ants in the room and mosquitos flying around, hence the cleaning service also has a room to improve.
