Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaTheir wasn’t much to do in the island. We rent a scooter which was our best decision but the beach aren’t so cool and there’s no downtown. It’s great if you want to enjoy a calm resort.
The actual resort is super pretty and the staff was lovely. The room and the pool were great as well.

United KingdomI would not recommend booking the ‘honeymoon’ villa. It is crammed right at the front of the resort facing directly into a converted caravan which blares the same Ed Shearan cover album day and night which sends you slowly insane. It is also right next to the restaurant and where people sit so not very private at all. The other side is a boat maker who bangs and clangs all day long. The staff were pleasant, but soulless. It was as though the management had them over trained and it was just too much for us. The manager was constantly stood watching everyone. It felt very artificial and not the Thai vibe we are used to at all. They stand and stare at you as you eat like soldiers on guard. This isn’t a complaint about the staff per say, more the way they are managed. It felt very oppressive there. The beach and sea are not really suitable for swimming here. It’s all mud and crabs. If you are looking for a nicer beach on Koh Yao Yao I’d recommend somewhere on the north west coast where the sunsets are beautiful and all the beaches are good for swimming.
The bed was very comfortable in the bungalow and there was a mosquito net which was nice.

United KingdomThe beach is not really a beach and it’s right by a pier and fishing boats ( so the photos do not tell the truth ) It is on a long thin strip of land so it feels not very spacious and claustrophobic. The pools are ok but one very small and boxed in and the other a long strip is more like a private pool The food in the restaurant was ok but not great ( I had a very average thai curry ) I tried to get a coffee in the cafe early but didn’t open until 11am and they didn’t know how much breakfast was . The rooms were dark and not everything working great. The staff are friendly and I am sure a good holiday for a family but needs to up their game and be honest with photos of beach front as not great to swim there 🙏
the staff were friendly

RussiaRoom size was supposed to be 95sqm as per room description on booking.com, it was probably half of it. The restaurant was a disaster, completely unorganized, bad quality and very slow in making food and drinks.
Property overall was nice, room was clean

United KingdomEverything was brilliant. Our room was luxurious and it was very clean. The food was lovely with a great selection. The location was also perfect and the hotels transport service made it easy to get to and from the pier. The hotel staff were really friendly and extremely helpful.

NetherlandsThe weather, otherwise we would have never left.
Writing this with a heavy heart because I would like to keep this hidden gem a secret. But here you go: absolutely outstanding. Clean big comfortable rooms. Bed was great. Bathroom spotless. Mini bar well stocked. The beach qas nice, the bean bags are a prefect hangout. There are two pools, one smaller and one massive one. Both so clean and comfortable. The restaurant/bar. Drinsk here are next legel. Passion fruit soda and banana milkshake were bliss. The food, we had dinner here both nights and breakfast both mornings. Dinner is a nice mix of european and thai food. Prices affordable. Try the salmon panang! Breakfast was a la carte. Pancakes are very nice! The thing that's stands out the most from this amazing place, is the staff. So friendly and polite. Ready to help you with everything you might need and more. Welcoming us at the gates, with a drink and a cold towel. Helping is with motorbikes or getting a taxi to the pier. Great stay, would 100% recommend.

ThailandThe value for money is not what other places in Thailand offer. 1) The room we booked was very humid and smelled. The toilet was dirty (brown) and clearly not properly cleaned. After informing the staff, they cleaned the toilet with a towel (!!) and thought the matter was resolved. Only after insisting that this was not what we paid for we were transferred to another room. 2) Besides the rooms, several things lack quality given the price you pay for them: motorbike helmets smelled horrible, laundry was relatively expensive and we received it back humid. When mentioning those things the staff didn’t really seem to understand or care. The manager didn’t even care to greet us when passing by. 3) The worst was us asking for transport to the pier and whether the hotel could offer a shuttle. They lied to us saying they didn’t have any means of transport and would call a cab. In the end, the vehicle was a hotel vehicle and the driver hotel staff but nevertheless they made us pay 300 Bhat for this very short trip. We would’ve preferred to support a local taxi driver if the hotel is not even willing to reduce this crazy price for their guests. Again, when we complained they only smiled but didn’t seem to understand or even care. We feel sorry for the staff in the restaurant but besides them we cannot recommend this location.
The staff in the restaurant was very friendly and breakfast was good.

United KingdomOur stay here was great. The hotel/bungalows are lovely, spacious and clean. There are two swimming pools too. Location is good, right on a beach and if you get a moped at the pier, it only takes about 15 mins to get the the hotel.

DenmarkThe bikes to borrow for free are not fully functional, but if it's just for a small ride they are ok. In description it says they have badminton but they don't.
