How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Hot water was not as hot as I would like for winter, but this is subjective. Could not find the buttons to get the ceiling fan to work. Aircon worked well though! Floor in the room can be quite slippery, especially right outside the bathroom. There's a karaoke place nearby and you can hear some singing, but stops at 11pm. The area has a few dogs that would bark at you, and run alongside or chases after the bike/scooter when you pass them.
The place was beautiful. Very unassuming before we turned into the compound. The staff who checked us in was very approachable. Place was clean.

Very simple room Water from Shower is directly on the floor of the bathroom. The floor gets slippery with water.
Very good location. Take a good, silent rest there.

Abit out the way - 25 min walk to centre, the beds were extremely uncomfortable :(

A bit cold in the bathroom in the morning in December but a good hot water shower Compensated for this.

Most appliances didn't work properly or not at all like the TV and the hairdryer was dead on arrival.

Recently renovated. Apart from furnture all looked fresh. A bit outside of Pai center, so a motorbike would be recommend.

The property is too far away from Pai town and there are no shops close by. There walk is not far (20 minutes) however there are many aggressive dogs on the way which makes it scary to do at any time of the day or night. There are no on-sight facilitates at all. The price of the accommodation is very steep considering what is actually of offer here.
The staff here are very kind and friendly (one of the staff even drove me to the bus station at 6am when my taxi did not arrive). The rooms are large and clean and the beds are very comfortable. The grounds are very well maintained.

Loud music from out side premises for both the 2 nights there. Hard beds & very low to ground One day no water pressure no hot water so no shower. No view

I had a rather bad experience with their laundry service. They charged double the price of laundromats in town, which I understand due to the convenience. However, they returned my laundry unfolded and creased in a bag. It smelled bad, some items were still visibly dirty. Two of my shirts were ruined as the colours ran. The staff were unapologetic and just insisted it wasn't their fault and insisted I pay full price. Eventually they accepted a discount, but I had to pay for unwashed, creased and ruined clothes. There was no hot water in my shower which was dreadful after being caught in the rain. It also felt very unmanaged, there was frequently nobody in reception or in sight to assist guests.
The rooms were clean and well-furnished. They replaced the towels, coffee and toiletries every day which was nice.

The beds were rock hard and there was no hot water. It looks like the bungalows are quite remote but there is a very busy road behind them. There is no comfy outdoor seating anywhere, all seating was wooden benches/chairs with no cushions. We had booked to stay 4 nights but left after 1 as it wasn’t comfortable enough for us. The staff were very kind and understanding and refunded us for the other 3 nights minus the commission they had to pay to booking.com
