The rooms had mold smell. The bathtub didn’t drain well and the shower water was not stable because it suddenly became hot and suddenly cold. The rooms were not soundproof and we can still hear noises till the middle of the night.

The rooms were spacious and clean. We had interconnecting rooms so they were big enough.

Fantastic breakfast buffet - so much choice of foods. Ground floors rooms have direct access to the pool which is great. Very friendly and helpful staff.

The bathroom and shower is too compact. Did not like the bathing cubicle, too high.

The room, although lovely, needed some refreshing. There were cigarette burns in various bits of furniture, even though it was a non-smoking private pool villa. Some other small bits of damage around the room in general. The decking around the pool was damaged and needed replacing as it was a bit of a trip hazard.

Very convenient location (opposite a night market of sorts), walking distance to Bangla Road, the beach, and other attractions in Patong. Close to lots of restaurants, bars, shops etc. Staff were extremely helpful in locating luggage the previous hotel had lost, and facilitated contacting the previous hotel to arrange getting it delivered to us. (From Khao Lak to patong) Smooth check-in process, again the staff were fantastic here.

Our room is the pool access room but because we were at the corner we couldn't get much sun and we constantly can hear guests walking past our room, when they walk past they van also look through and watch us using the pool so that wasn't quite nice There was also constantly bugs coming in from the balcony, I know its the nature but wished the resort would have done more about it

Although a beautiful property I felt spoilt after staying at another establishment which provided better value for money. I didn't find the staff as friendly. The buffet breakfast although it had a lot to choose from was disappointing with the "hot" food been lukewarm at best. After 9 days of semi-warm food we were happy to leave. The happy hour was not designed to attract people, been offered at 1800 - 2000hrs, in the main bar, not at the pool bar when we were relaxing in afternoon. I was pleased I booked a pool access room as there were a lot of chair hogs near the pools. This couldn't be helped as there weren't enough chairs when considering the large amount of rooms present on site. I thought the restaurant was overpriced, but luckily there were plenty of eating options outside the resort.

The Grand Mecure was definitely a 5 star resort, with a beautiful foyer, impressive dining area, and well kept gardens and pool area. I loved having the pool access room, and being about the enjoy my own space and the ability to cool down in the heat. Staff regularly checked the water quality and maintain the area well. In our room there was a good selection of toiletries, hairdryer and included slippers/dressing gown/ ironing board and iron. Otop markets were across the road, and I loved the easy access to them. There were many restaurants in easy walking distance, close to the beach, and walking distance to Bangla Road and shopping centres. Staff were prompt dealing with anything we asked them.

The only disappointment was that I had to make 3 requests for our bed to be decorated for our 7th wedding anniversary to surprise my wife on our first full day but it was not as requested even though I had asked on 3 seperate occasions and it was not done until 5pm on that day - there was a towel elephant with no reference to our anniversary as seen with other customers Also on arrival, the lady who greeted us was very grumpy and uncommunicative until she realised we were vip so that wasn't a good start. Everything else was fabulous and can't be criticised.

The hotel was fantastic with a lovely room with a king size bed with pool access. Lovely breakfast, good location and facilities. Staff mostly were very pleasant and polite.

Nothing much to say, except the sunloungers can be occupied pretty early and you can't tell which ones are free. There might be party people coming back loud late late night, but only once in a while.

The hotel is amazing! It is close to the beach (around 5-8 mins walk) and it's not bombarded by the noise of parties and bars. Highly recommend it if you want to rest after a tiring day. The breakfast and staff are superb as well. Very caring and kind. We told the housekeeping about mosquitoes in our room, they gave us a mosquito coil.
