Water pressure is a bit low, but understandable given the height of the buildings. It would be nice if the pool was open later than 7pm, although this rule didn’t seem to be enforced on people who stayed in until late.

The buggy service cannot take you all the way up to your building if it is raining, because the slopes are slippery and it would be too risky. It was our bad luck that we experienced rain on 3 out of our 4 nights there. We were in building 6 and on the last night one of the staff was very kind as to help carry our items to our room.

Great location with a beautiful view of the sea. The property is very near the beach, and there are plenty of eateries and massage places in the area.

No proper arrangements for movement within the building and to market especially during rain... It resulted in wasting two days out of three which I stayed for. See, the resort is at 20-12 minutes walk away from market and almost half an hour from beach... Timing for shuttle was set from 10 am to 5 pm... Simply non sensical... Even a few minutes flexibility was not there... And icing on the top was restricted movement even withi the premisis as buggy service was continuously bein cut to half (tilswimming pool only) during rain... And it continued raining throughout my stay... The tourists spend a lot of money to come here and main purpose is to relax and enjoy... But for me, it mostly turned out to be a wastage of time and moneyl and getting drenched in rain times and again whenever I had to get out of my room... Facility owners need to give a serious thought to all this... There should be a smart alternate to buggy service in bad weather and shuttle service should be available for market and beach at least till 9 pm. In addition, the staff should have at least that much authority and empowerment to provide plastic slippers to the guest as it was straightly denied to me even when I was ready to pay... I was told with poker face that nothing can be done and I have to go on my feet to market in rain and waste my shoes in order to get the plastic slippers... What soer of approach this is by the owners?... I simply could not understand as this was my ninth visit to Thailand and never faced such strict and nonsense type rules anywhere... I felt the staff wished and wanted to help but were forced to remain within very pathetic boundaries of so called rules... Rules are good, but not at the cost of your reputation my dears, especially when you are in service sector... I hope my comments are taken seriously as I wish Karon Phunaka Resort could benefit from many positives that it has.

The resort is overall pretty good and has some inherent advantages too. Staff is overall couteous and cooperative but I seriously felt that they had no authority to accomodate even genuine needs and requirements of guests as they were extraordinarily trying to be compliant with the rules which were sometimes illogical and non sensical too.

I got a few small bugs on my desk on my first day. But the staff disinfected them the next day, and hadn't seen them since.

The a/c was noisy, the hotel is rather old in general. Also, there was no hygienic shower by the toilet, which is not common for Thai hotels

The staff was very welcoming, the rooms were clean, the pool was big enough (and you can always take pool towels for free on the reception), and I liked that there was a free transfer from the hotel to the beach and back every hour (9am-5pm)

Be prepared to walk up and down a LOT of steep stairs. It is built on a mountainside. They do have a buggy to transport you to/from the room, but they will not if it is raining - understandable, as it is very steep, but also means you can become somewhat limited. If you have difficulty walking or cannot at all, I am not sure how accessible this resort would be. You could request a room closer to the lobby, but the driveway is still very steep and slippery in the rain. The restaurant is expensive compared to the rest of the town. 350 baht per person for breakfast buffet and about 300 baht per main meal for dinner. The buffet has a very good range (eggs, stir-fries, fried potatoes, toast, pastries, fresh fruit and salad, cereal) but lacks non-dairy, no-egg range. We ate a lot of toast and fruit! As most places in town don't open until 9-10am, we found it easier to eat at the resort, but wish they had alternatives for dietary requs ie soy milk for coffees and cereals. Other services through the resort are also very expensive, like laundry and massage. I booked a massage before realising that they cost 4x more than places in town, but I couldn't cancel as they said the resort already paid for the service. The massage itself was great, but over priced.

The view is amazing, the location is out of the hustle of the main street but close enough to walk down yourself. They also offer a free bus to the beach every hour 9-5. The infinity pool is gorgeous and clean with a bar. Gym is well kept with decent equipment. Room was huge (king deluxe I think?) with great water pressure and temperature control. Staff were all fantastic and helpful.

The resort is on a hill top and the rooms are also on steep from the reception, however there are pick up and drop services from your rooms up and down.

This resort is the best getaway you can ask for. It has everything inside it and an amazing roof top pool for some instagramable photos! The staff are very sweet, always ready to help and always smiling, just making your stay even more special! The services are just top notch!!

We ended up right next to the pool which played music most of the day. This was audible in our room which I didn't like. The elevator was also broken which led to a lot of stairs every time we went up to our room.

The breakfast buffet was great. Our room was also quite large and had everything we needed. I got food poisoning partway through our stay and the staff was very helpful. We also got a great deal and enjoyed time at the pool.

the rooms are a bit dated and need extra cleaning in the bathroom the location is a bit isolated, bo taxis around unless you walk to the main street which is 10 mins away not suitable for people with accessibility issues

It is located on a hill, so you have to be prepared to go up and down the stairs regularly. Therefore, free electric cars can be called to cross the hotel grounds.
