How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The hotel has been stripped back. No drinking water in the rooms, which I think is against regulations. You are told to go to the local store. 2 cups a kettle and nothing for them. Towels torn and thin. Someone is trying to save money and in doing so is killing the hotel. My friend was on the floor below which meant I had to go to reception and get someone to zap me to his floor in the lift each time. I hope they will show the hotel a little love soon or it will deteriorate further.
It's a great budget hotel, very comfortable bed and good shower.

One room I booked had a non-functioning air conditioner. Another room had many many small ants in the bathroom.
Location was good. Rooms were mostly quiet.

Hard bed, noisy ac, not very clean sheets, theybwere washed but still old stains. No water. A bit old. For a bit more money you can get way better hotels.

Room very clean, bed very comfortable with really nice pillows. Staff very helpful and made a lot of effort to find joining rooms for myself and my daughters. We had a great time at Red Planet Surawong, thank you.

The facilities of was good...the left is they didn't provided the room mineral water..even if u stay other hotel with less than this price of room...they did provide the mineral water to the room daily...and the promotion was offered by booking.com ..was fake..and I have to paid more for room..no doubt I was make an earlier booking...

Very little support from the front desk staff. They provided little assistance and seemed to be somewhat unfriendly.
Room was comfortable, shower was good and the a/c worked well.

We arrived at the hotel at around 10pm. We checked in and were told that it is a non-smoking hotel. We do not smoke. When we walked into the first room, it smelled so terribly like cigarettes, that we just went back to the reception and asked for a new room. They changed the room and gave us another one. This second room had struggles with electricity. After around 2 minutes the energy (including the lights) just shut down. This happened each time, we put the keycard back in. After complaining about this, the receptionists sent a security guard to the room. He did not even realise that it was necessary to put in the keycard for energy. He did not seem qualified for solving this issue at all and obviously could not fix it. Finally, we received the third room in the late evening. This one was very noisy and the AC sounded like it was going to explode any second. Obviously we checked out the next morning without getting a discount for this struggled Night even though we asked for it and strongly pointed out that we were more than unhappy with this situation.
It was possible to cancel the Booking for the second night free of charge. The receptionist Mindy was kind and tried to help solve the many problems that occured.

Excellent location in Silom. The rooms are spotless. Very clean and comfortable. An incredible value overall. I highly recommend if you coming to Bangkok.

Small rooms. Lack of soundproofing so one can hear doors being closed along the corridor and the shower from the neighbouring room. Exteral humming/droning noise turning on and off at all hours. Nowhere to place a suitcase except for the floor or the bed. Wrong-sized replacement toilet seat (room 507) made of cheap plastic, which stuck to the thighs when standing up.
Availability at short notice. Price. Efficient, polite and friendly housekeeping staff.
