Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaGreat quiet spot at the end of Lamai. The villas are all down a windy garden and pond path. The villa was spacious with a sofa and outdoor seat. Well maintained. Our room near the kitchen was quiet, even though people had to pass it. The pool overlooks the beach, as does the restaurant. It was so lovely to walk out onto the beach and stroll to a restaurant. Convenience stores very close as well as laundry. The staff were fabulous looking after everything we needed.

United KingdomSmall seating area out side bungalow with limited view. Pool area, beds in rows and people didn't seem to speak much, but not hotels thought. Nice walk to town along beach. Beach bars great. Walk home on road not great so maybe taxi 200 bhat
Rooms new and modern. We were close to sea. Pool area staff very attentive. Moving brollies drinks, etc. One very good restaurant on road. Best food and good price. The rock bar is one of the most chilled bars I've been too and I've visited a few!! Weed readily available but not my thing. Can watch sunset if venture round rock if sea not too rough.

FinlandEverything was perfect, no negative.
The Rummana suite was perfect as it was right by the pool and beach. Some rooms were a bit far from the beach but that's why we chose the suite. In addition to all other basic amenities there was a water resistant beach/ pool bag available and it was nice to pack it and take to the pool. Everyday we also got a towel to use by the pool or beach so there was no need to use our own or the hotel room towels. We got a few fruits as a welcome gift and every day the cleaners gave small water bottles. Site was amazing, views were great and that part of Lamai was quieter which we enjoyed. Right next to the hotel there was a pharmacy and a store. Massage at the beach by the hotel staff was amazing, a bit more expensive than on the street but worth it.

AustriaWe would have loved to have more traditional Thai food for breakfast. However, the majority of the guest probably prefer the offered continental breakfast.
Staff was friendly and always there to help. Our room was new & the daily cleaning was done very thoroughly! Hotel also offers massages & spa treatments.

GermanyThe bed is quite hard (some like it, sone not - therefore you can't make it for everybody fitting) The electricity box (located in the shelf) in the room was quite noisy (constant humming). Not sure if it was only our Bungalow but anyway, most of the time the AC is running and you can't hear it. So also not that bad. didn't complain about it, so not sure if it could be be fixed.
The hotel area is really nicely made. The staff is always friendly and supportive. Beach in front of the hotel is nice and not so crowded as in Lamai center. Scooters from the hotel are cheap compared to surrounding rental shops (250 vs 500 per day)

AustriaEverything was perfect but maybe a small point: The cleaning of the room could be better, but in the other hand, it was a tropical place , we should not expect too high.
Beautiful Boutique Hotel with tropical decoration. The restaurant Staff was very friendly and helpful. The Location was calm and out of the busy area of Lamai Beach. The size of the room was big enough and the most important was that you ll have a separate Villa and you are almost independent of other neighbors.

SpainThe beach wasn’t the best but it could be down to all of the rain we had whilst we were there. The pool area is very nice but it could do with being updated.

United KingdomWe wanted a quieter location but it is right at the far end of Lamai beach which could be an issue for some. Although, good beachside and street restaurants nearby - Lamai is much nicer and well kept than Chaweng! The main areas (reception/dining area/pool area) could do with some revamping to the same level of the villa rooms.
The recently refurbished rooms are fantastic. Spacious, well designed, comfortable and the cleaning team did a great job of keeping everything on point everyday!

NetherlandsLocation is a bit difficult to rate here. For me, in hindsight, it was not ideal. You are 20 mins walk away from Lamai center, and 30 mins taxidrive away from Chaweng. Beachfront Lamai seems to have suffered from Covid severely, which does not contribute to its attractiveness. However, this could hardly be Rummana to be blamed for. The only thing I did not like so much at Rummana are its rather expensive rides all over Samui. Better settle for the songtaews passing by.
The resort can be described as a tropical garden, in which the cottages of the resort are scattered all around. The room is spacious, where the bathroom can even be describes as enormous. The bed is comfortable. The pool offers a restaurant/bar to the side, where you can order your food and drinks from the time breakfast ends.

SwitzerlandThe rooms were cleaned daily, but not thoroughly. Especially in the bathroom and the floor, a better cleaning is desirable. But overall, everything was great.
Beautiful hotel complex with a big tropical garden. Very friendly staff who always helpfully gave us information on open questions. We did laundry nearby (off-site) and were given hangers to hang clothes on. The bartender made us the pina colada cocktail with fresh pineapple and served it right inside. Large, nicely furnished rooms. Fresh towels and water every day. Beach towels additionally available free of charge. Good wifi in the whole area. Uncomplicated and cheap motorcycle rental. We enjoyed the stay at the Rummana Resort a lot and would recommend it anytime.
