Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

SwitzerlandBig problem with the light is always going on in the night over the bed. The elecrtic man try to fix it but the problem persists. Also many of the lights didn't work. In the "living room" there was no table and also no working desk. Overall the hotel need a lifting soon

Thailandbreakfast quite rarely good so well. staff at the front desk quite rarely know how support customer such as the payment machine. when ask for support they stand with them need, quite not understand how to satisfy customer so well. I traveled with my 5 years daughter which they let my baby wait with me for getting what they want. AWFUL
Room, View, and housemate they are lovely and get what we ask for and willing to support which is different mindset when compare with the front desk staff.

United KingdomThe check-in experience was poor due to requiring a cash deposit which Booking.com did not inform me was needed. The room in places was a bit dusty, perhaps the hotel could provide a ladder to cleaners or give them a duster with long handle. Shower was in need of refurbishment as floor tiles to stop water spreading outside shower area were missing. In general the room could have been presented in a better way.
The room was spacious and beds were comfortable. There was a good number of parking spaces available. Very easy to get to the beach by walking with Local bars and restaurants also nearby. After the deposit issue was resolved the check-in staff was pleasant and in a better mood.
