Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ThailandThe dust in the room, the light in shower room was so dark, the mirror was installed too hight for 165 cm. woman like me. The air conditioner was cold and that good but the blanket was like a papery, there was no duvet in side. The breakfast was the worse. Food was so little as a set menu. Not good quality, expired yogurt cause it was too hot and they did not put it in refrigerator. The hotel beach is not for swim, so much seaweed.
The view is 100% value my money. It was incredible I can’t wait to wake up early to enjoy the view, would recommend for couple. The staff was helpful and friendly.

United KingdomReally step stairs to and from the beach, but mainly the amount of flies every time you’d have a meal at the restaurant/beach. It was really hard to eat as they were everywhere… not great at all. It actually ruined the moment. The eating area is on a beautiful beach with Cristal clear waters, sort of paradise beach… the flies completely ruined the experience. Being on sunset beach it is quite a walk to get to the walking street (10 mins). Easy on the way down but to return we ended up getting taxis (thb 50). Also the laundry service wasn’t great. Quite expensive in comparison to village prices and the service wasn’t great at all. What was white became yellow and a few items came back stained!
Stayed in a very comfortable and pretty bungalow with ocean view. Loved the room with its balcony and amazing toilet which had the most incredible view. Really liked being able to refill my bottle of water when needed. Friendly staff that waited for me to arrive to check in. I arrived 1:30 after the cut off time because of problems with the speedboat from Phi Phi.

IrelandOur room was at the back and removed from the nice garden area. Owner was very aggressive towards a couple at reception, context unknown, but still surprising to see in hospitality ,regardless of the reason.
Location right on sunset beach, quiet compared to main beaches. Short walk to all other areas. Aircon was good , mosquito net provided and room was cleaned every day by friendly staff. Hotel restaurant did nice food and kayak rentals.

The taxi service by uncle and Cheese is superb. Too fast until we dont need to bother walking up the hill.Per trip only cost thb50. Nice spot for lite snorkel area just on the beach side. Dont expect much on cleanliness when u stay at wooden chalet by the sea. Regardless every day they do housekeeping and i have a good sleep during the stay.

United KingdomWhen we first arrived we were out in a small cabin right by the restaurant. I most definitely did NOT want that and had booked and paid for a “Queen suite”. When I complained the manager was dismissive and rude, said that all rooms were the same, she might be able to move us the next night, and said if I didn’t like it I could book elsewhere. Thankfully we were moved the next day to the much larger and quieter cabin that we had booked, and we were happy with the room. The steps to and from the beach are very steep. Our mosquito net was very old and holes had been tied into knots in very many places.
The views from the cabin were lovely. Good size balcony overlooking the sea. The bed was comfortable and a mosquito net was provided. Nice shower, but only lukewarm, which didn’t matter that much. Room cleaned daily, sheets changed after 2 nights. Restaurant, cleaning and odd job staff very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast choice. The beach is lovely and very quiet in the morning. It gets busier towards lunch and then as sunset time comes, but quiet again at the end of the day. The bar is closed by 9 pm. Can hire kayaks and plenty of deckchairs provided. Easy to walk to other areas, but a cut price bike taxi from the hotel is available ( sorry, forgotten the drivers names, both lovely)

AustriaThe bungalows itself could be cleaner and there is space missing for stowing your belongings. When you shower the whole bathroom gets wet and it runs down next to the wall at the lowest point of the bathroom and out of the bungalow without tubes. The toilet does has tubes though. :)
First of all, we booked without reading the comments, after booking we read them we got a bit scared. The bungalows are simple, but you have everything you need. So definitely no luxury but with mosquito net (we did sew the little holes in the mosquito net for our own peace) but one of three night we didn’t even used it. Less to no insects came into our bungalow even though there are some spaces between the panels. The restaurant next to the beach and its stuff is just lovely! Great food, nice people and good vibes. The beach itself is beautiful and with less people than expected. If you search a nice silent place, I guess this is the best option for less money. We even extended one night because we enjoyed the beach a lot. I guess it depends a lot of how you talk to the staff, because to us they all were super nice and helpful! We did had a little guest, a small gecko which was cute but also proved that every little animal could enter. Just keep it in mind :) I think also sunset beach was the only beach without jellyfishes when we were there. The jellyfishes around the island were super small but hurt a bit nonetheless.

IrelandNo TV and the toilet didn't flush properly. It was a bit pricey because it was around the New Year.
The room was big and rustic, made of wood with a very nice view from the balcony. AC and wi-fi work well. Breakfast was delicious and served on a terrace by the sea. A flight of stairs brings you to the Sunset Beach, where you can use the sun chairs. They offer free pick-up and drop of at arrival and departure and 50 Bath per ride anywhere on the island. Lovely cat and kittens and the big gentle dog guarding our door one night.

United KingdomIt was just a little too far out of the way from the walking street although it was still walkable. It was a gorgeous hotel but would benefit from a pool.
The property was spotless and the staff were really lovely. They ran a cheaper Tuk tuk service to the walking street from the hotel too (Cheese was great). The grounds were also lovely with fish ponds too.
