Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ThailandCheck in desk was often times left unstaffed. Some more information about local transport options would've really helped because if a person arrives without their own transport then it is difficult to get around the city. The bed & pillows weren't the softest, but not overly uncomfortable.
Good size room, decent in room facilities, close to shops & market. Very reliable WiFi a real plus too.

AustraliaThe bed is awful. So hard. I have noticed it is only Westerners who have commented on the discomfort of the bed. As a westerner, I have to agree it was terribly hard mattress. Maybe it is more common for Thai people to sleep on a hard mattress as the comments would suggest there is no issue from the locals. No soap and poorly cleaned sink in the bathroom was noticeable. I have stayed at multiple 3 star hotels throughout Thailand but this one could lose a star if it want for the size of the room.
Big size room and close to the river. Has parking.

United StatesThough the room and hotel were clean and relatively (to the neighborhood) modern, the facilities were a bit "rough around the edges": the standing lamp was broken (the hood and bulb toppled over from the stand), the bathroom shower drain was clogged and drained slowly so you would be standing in a shallow pool of water while showering, and there was no furniture (not even a chair) on the balcony which made it almost useless for spending any time on.
The location of the hotel was great. We parked our car in the lot and walked over either the nearby walking village or the brightly lit Rassadapisek Bridge to get to the city center for morning coffee and meals at a variety of restaurants. One of the main reasons we stopped in Lampang was to visit the Sky Pagoda, just over an hour drive from Lampang city but a lot of tourist attractions were within walking distance of the hotel (eg. Louis Leonowens House, horse carriages) though some were unfortunately closed (eg. Baan Sao Nak and Amok Tower). The staff was very friendly and responsive when asked to replace the batteries in the safe and when we reported the broken lamp.

AustraliaThe room we were in suffered small leaks in one corner and while it didn’t really bother us, we could see that water damage was occurring. The skirting around the sliding door to the balcony was in a progressive state of disintegration from the wet. The rains are relentless in the country and it’s a major fight against its effects. But for the price we were paying, it as easy to overlook these shortcomings. Unfortunately, the one thing that we couldn’t look past was the poor wi-fi reception from our room. Initially we were told that it was our devices that were the issue (I knew they weren’t). We then asked if we could change rooms to a part of the hotel that had better reception and an admission was made that apart from the ground floor next to the reception area, the wifi strength was going to be poor wherever we moved to. We had booked and paid for three nights, but faced with the prospect of not being able to easily connect from devices that didn’t have mobile data for all those days, we decided to move to a different hotel. The staff were simply great and very apologetic for the lack of wifi and understood our disappointment. Our remaining two nights stay were refunded without hesitation.
Wherever we’ve been in Thailand, we’ve always encountered friendly staff at hotels. Some more so than others. Villa Rassada is another one of those places that made us feel welcome and tried their best to accommodate any requests we made. We had booked one of their larger rooms, which was at the top most corner of the building. Having no lift, it meant we had to carry our relatively heavy suitcases up. Not the fault of the hotel that we had heavy luggage. The room was comfortable and did have a good amount of space – it certainly didn’t feel cramped and there was plenty of surface area for us to spread out all our technology. The bathroom was also large and well laid out. Great air-conditioning and a firm bed that wasn’t uncomfortable. The hotel might be located on the other side of the river but the town is so small that it really doesn’t matter where you are, it’s never a long walk. We even walked all the way to the Central Lampang shopping mall in under 30 mins.
