My stay at the property was marred by several issues that detracted from the overall experience. Firstly, the furniture throughout appeared old and worn out, desperately in need of replacement or repair. A significant safety concern arose with the malfunctioning shower door, which completely fell off its hinges during use, posing a serious risk and raising questions about maintenance attentiveness. This incident made me wonder whether the shower area was being cleaned, as one can’t enter the shower without touching the door. If they cleaned and knew about the issue, why hasn’t it been addressed then? Additionally, the electrical setup in the room was poor. The limited number of power outlets forced me to choose between using the kettle or keeping the fridge running, which was highly inconvenient. The absence of bedside power outlets also added to the frustration, particularly in our connected age where charging multiple devices overnight is often necessary. Another discomfort was experienced due to smoking on the property. Smoke from other guests smoking on the porch with open doors easily wafted into my room on the third floor, significantly affecting the air quality inside. This issue could be easily addressed with better smoking regulations or improved room insulation.

I had a delightful stay at this property, primarily due to its excellent location. Being situated close to most of the main attractions, yet in a quiet area free from noise, provided the perfect balance for both convenience and relaxation. The staff added to the pleasant experience with their exceptional friendliness and efficiency; they were not only welcoming but also accommodating, allowing me to check into my room earlier than scheduled. Despite the room's small size, it was cozy and well-appointed, which made for a comfortable stay. The breakfast offered was another highlight, with a variety of great options that started each day on a positive note. Overall, the combination of a superb location, outstanding staff, and thoughtful amenities made my visit truly enjoyable.

It is a pity there is no drinks available at the night on the terase...but of course there are many possibilities around.in the morning you hear chairs at breakfast area going here and there...

Walls are quite thin so you can hear people talking (and snoring!) in other rooms but for us this was fine.

The location was perfect, next to all main attractions, restaurants and shops. The room wasn't the most modern but it was comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly and breakfast on the terrace was really nice. Overall, it's good value for money and an excellent choice if you want to stay right in Sultanahmet at a reasonable price.

They need to provide at least a charging socket in all rooms, because many customers are coming from different countries. May their charger or pin not fit in the room socket.

We are three friends who visited Istanbul in the second half of March 2024. The room was comfortable, tidy and warm. Breakfast was served on the top floor with a beautiful view, and it was tasty and varied. Hotel Alp Guesthouse is located in the historical part of the city near the main tourist attractions such as Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern... Nearby is the T1 tram station, which can be used to reach the Kapali Bazaar, the Galata Bridge and the Egyptian Bazaar. It is also connected to Kabataş, where night cruise ships depart. You can easily reach Balat - Montmartre in Istanbul by tram T5, as well as the main pedestrian street Istiklal by funicular F2. Many thanks to the friendly staff, Birsu and Ismail who organised for us transfers from and to the airport and answered all our questions kindly and on time.

The only problem was that the heat was turned on half of the day and the radiator in our room was extra hot and there was no way to turn it down. It was very hot at times and we had to open the window constantly to mantain a livable temperature.

Cheap room, great breakfast, good location, had everything you need for a stay in Istanbul. We received a free upgrade to our room!

This is not at all the fault of the hotel, but for a future stay we would probably find a place a little farther removed from the very touristy area of the city. We did find alternate routes though, to get to where we wanted to go.

The hotel itself was very nice. The staff was great - friendly and very helpful. The breakfast staff was very friendly too, and the rooftop terrace for breakfast was pleasant.
