Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

JapanWe loved the hotel the moment we got there. They treated us like a family, always cared about us and were helpful. Just after we reserved the room, they helped us book some tours. We had to pay for the tours in cash at a hotel, but they accepted JPY, no commission fee, which was really convenient cause we couldn’t exchange before visiting the hotel. The room and the bed was large enough for two of us, well-furnished with beautiful art like pottery and carpets. The room had a bathtub, which helped us relax and get warm in the cold night. The breakfast was good. We enjoyed the Turkish meal a lot. The view from the terrace was nice. The location was also great. It was in the center of the city, close to the nice cafes and restaurants. The staff gave us some tips about where to go.

South KoreaFacility : beyond expectations. It was clean, cool and quiet. Thanks to you, I was traveling, but I fell asleep comfortably. The hotel has a variety of pottery and decorations, so it's worth looking around. Breakfast : absolutely must eat. You can really taste the Turkish breakfast. Comes with a variety of cheeses, sauces, breads and Turkish tea. It tasted even better when I ate while watching the outside from the window on the 3rd floor. Tour : Booked a balloon tour through the hotel. The price was okay, and above all, the host coordinated the time/circumstances well in the middle. Pick up : Pick-up service can also be booked through the hotel. Highly recommended!! I had to give the money to the driver when I arrived at the accommodation. I paid in lira instead of euro, but the host calculated the cost based on the exchange rate of the day. I could have made the article receive more, but from this point on, I trusted the host. Extra : The balloon tour was canceled, so the stay was extended by one day. I had to buy a new ticket because the app couldn't modify/cancel the flight ticket at all. I asked the host if he could help. He called Turkish Airlines and changed the ticket by voice. Super nice!

United StatesNothing. Would highly recommend. If anything, parking would be a bit difficult, but that would be true of all of the main part of Goreme, to be honest.
We stayed at two different hotels in Cappadocia, and the Aren is truly stellar. A family-run hotel with only eight rooms, it is so well kept and beautiful—charming spaces, stunning rooms, friendly staff. We stayed in a cave room and it was just gorgeous and so fascinating, carved right into the cave walls, well-furnished, with lovely art and modern amenities, including the bathroom. I have to note that this was one of the best showers I've ever experienced—such excellent water pressure. Breakfast was always a lovely spread, and they are very helpful with bookings (we rented a car and also booked an airport shuttle through them) and guidance. Would definitely book again.

Australiagreat recommendations and advice about restaurants, activities and how to get around town. Furkan helped to book our balloon ride well ahead of time ensuring we were with a reputable outfit. He went well beyond the call of duty to forward some items we left behind on to our next accomodation. Couldn’t recommend Aren Cave Hotel enough.

United StatesNothing. It was wonderful
Small, boutique, family run property in the perfect location in Goreme. The hotel is beautiful, but more importantly, the entire family helps in the running of the place, with Furkan , the son of the owner, running the front desk and arranging tours and transfers (and generously becoming our driver for the day when we had no tour booked, to take us to the local sites). The breakfast spread is an extensive Turkish breakfast, and included in the daily rate. The ceramics and art dotting the hotel is gorgeous, and some of it is for sale, at very reasonable prices. The place may be a cave hotel, but you are not lacking for any amenities. Lots of dining options close by, and easy access to sunset point. Furkan helped arrange our balloon ride as well as Green tour. Everything was perfect. We would go back in a heartbeat.

United Arab EmiratesVery pretty & quaint hotel, the customer service was amazing. Furqan was very helpful to give tips on what to do around, he was very friendly & easy to concerse with. We had aged parents with us who were finding it difficult to walk the terrain. Melisa helped us organize the breakfast in the room so they dint need to walk up the stairs to the breakfast area. Overall, great property with artistically furnished rooms.
