Rooms are very small, we couldn't even open the luggage on the floor. No wardrobe or space for clothes, only a very small cabinet, so they have to stay mainly folded in the luggage. Bed is comfy but a bit small as well. Room had no window so it was kind of claustrophobic. We arrived at the room and the refrigerator was unplugged and it takes a while to refrigerate the water. Remote control of the air conditioner had no battery. So you arrive tired from a day touring around and still have to go after things that should be ready for you to use. Breakfast is not good for my taste, only soluble coffee.

The good thing about this hotel is the location.

Everything was like on photos. It was very comfortable, clean and cozy. The hotel is near Aya Sophia, so you will need maybe 5-10 minutes to get there. I can just say, that from the start till the end everything was great. Guys who work in hotel were very kind. I really recommend this place.

We thought the rooms were really small and compact.. bathrooms were really small too. We couldn’t move around freely in the room without one of us have to sit on the bed to let other pass.. was a little disappointed with that. They could’ve planed their layout of the room better…

Hotel restaurant is located on the rooftop which I thought was really cool. Lovely view of the Bosphorus river and bridge. Staffs were really nice and very helpful and attentive especially the concierge Zakaria who we really liked. Both of the hotel managers were friendly and helpful. They were very accommodating when we asked to change room to one with slightly bigger bathroom.

My stay at Dara old city hotel was amazing, my room was very clean and I wasn’t disturbed at all while I was working in my room. The staff is also incredibly nice and helpful. Breakfast was great with an incredible view. I totally recommend staying here! They also have an elevator which is very useful.

- the room size: I am solo travelling with a cabin-size luggage and even considering this the room was extremely uncomfortable and claustrophobic for one person stay. The ceiling extremely low, probably 190-200. It was hard to find 1 square meter to put mu small cabin-size suitcase. - the smell: Dump and moist in the minuscule shower room create a very unpleasant, like rotten eggs smell. Had to keep my window open and the bathroom door closed. - lack of the hairdryer and decent-sized deposit box. there was no hairdryer (even though it should be there according to the booking.com) Had to ask for the hairdryer at the reception. the deposit box didn’t work and it was a small 10 cm x 10 cm box. don’t bother your telephone wouldn’t even fit. - breakfast very poor selection. no meat, no fish. the only thing they had was a fried very low quality sausage. I understand you can’t expect much from a 3 star hotel but the quality of that sausage was just type of doog-food. overall, you better find something else. the price you pay doesn’t match what you get. pictures seem to be all photoshopped and doesn’t match the reality. I just can’t recommend.

We had a great time in Dara old city, the staff were very helpful, also Tugba hanım makes best Turkish tea and you can drink all day long without any restrictions. It rarely happens) Cleaners do their job in best way, changing linens every day) and reception guys were very supportive and kind.

The day I arrived at the airport of Istanbul there was a taxi driver who had to pick me up to bring me to the hotel, but there was nobody there waiting for me. So I called the hotel, then they said it was my fault because I did not inform them about the hour I woud arrive what is not true. Because I send them a request on Booking.com. , I can prove it. So I had to wait 1 hour at the airport for the taxi to arrive , it was midnight so I waited untill 1 am in the morning outside. I would arrive 4 august at 23:40 in the evening, so they had to pick me up 5 august at midnight. But they said I had told them to pick me up 5 august at 23:40. When I arrived at the hotel I had to pay 60€ more for early booking what he never said before. I was so angry and the guy on the phone was raising his voice to me, saying that he was sleeping and that I was being difficult. So I paid 260 € instead of 200€ for the hotel. Then they asked me to pay one way and return for the taxi (60€), but I only paid the one way what was 35€. To come back to Belgium I booked my taxi on Booking.com what was perfect, the driver was on time and correct with me.The second day in Istanbul the guy who I spoke to on the phone earlier said sorry for what happend, that it was a misunderstanding , offering me tea, food. Then suddenly he became friendly again, but for me the trust was already broken. I was also friendly to him but I saw him differently now. To be honest I will never go back to Dara old city hotel again because of this incident. I was kind of disappointed.

I liked the breakfast , the terrace and the location of the hotel. My room was also made clean most of the time. You had a 24 hour reception at the hotel. Every day they gave you 2 free bottles of water.

Very uncomfortable bed for couple. Very small sink not even at standards. No continental breakfast. Everyday the bread was missing. No blankets in rooms. Fridge not working. When light not working in the bathroom it took them 12 hours to fix it. I booked a taxi with them, it come 30 min later than my appointment.

The hotel is very close to the Mosques, centric. Has an amazing view (to the sea) from the rooftop. The room is comfortable and clean, the breakfast is very good as well.
