Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MalaysiaThe security aspects of the hotel. The hotel room can be accessed by anyone directly via the lift.
We like the atmosphere of the hotel with the common area and kitchenette with free access to tea and coffee. The room is ample size with all functioning facilities. It is only 6 mins walking from Beimen MRT station. The hotel is located off the main road and is very quiet.

PolandIt took me a few minutes to find the building. From outside it looks just like a normal apartment/office.
Fantastic, friendly, cozy place, equipped with everything you might need during your travel. Great location in city center, near underground and train station, night market, Dihua street and Container Market by the riverside. Staff working there is extremely friendly and helpful. Would recommend to anyone.

JapanThe only thing I can think of is that it would have been nice to have more towels in the bedroom. We were only given one bath towel each and a small bath mat, but there were no smaller sized towels to dry your hands or face. There was also no hand soap in the bedroom which meant we had to use the shower gel to wash our hands.
The bedroom was comfortable and pretty much had everything we needed - beds, a desk, a TV, a sink with a mirror, a toilet and a shower. Both the bedroom and the kitchen area were very clean. The location was great - very accessible and an easy walk to the nearest train station.

United Statesit’s a hostel, so… normal hostel things. just hope you get good roommates :)
very clean, nice rooms & bathrooms. definitely recommend getting a room on the 6th floor, those facilities seem to be much newer. there is coin laundry available on the second floor for nt$40 per washer which was a lifesaver. great location, about 5-10 min walk from ningxia night market, 5 min from dihua street, & 20-30 min on public transport to both raohe and shilin night markets! around 15 min walk to taipei main station as well.

AustraliaOnly flaw is location is not the best, no food or convenience stores on same street. And a bit of walk to train station. But we're ok as with a bit of walk we can go to Ningxia night market, dihua street, Taipei station in all different directions without having to take public transport.
Plenty of lighting, space. Love the shower. Spacious bathroom. Nice slippers. aircon works well. Love the communal spaces where we could eat and rest. And there are toilets, bins, fridges.

TaiwanThe hostel is clean and well maintained. The staff is very patient. I could not get into my room with my card key after I went to get some water. It was nine forty. A staff came to help. She first open the door with her card key to test the door was working. Then she tested the door with my card key. Interestingly, it worked. But she was very patient, testing my car key more times. The card key was not working at some trials. She apologized to me and asked me to tell the front desk about the card key issue. I did so when I checked out the next day. A different staff said the issue had been annotated in their computer.

United KingdomAnother guest kept keeping the balcony door window open which let in a bunch of mosquitos that ate my feet, not the fault of the accommodation, just depends on who is staying there too:) Perhaps not the most affordable option in Taipei but I would definitely stay here again!
We got a slightly larger room which was a pleasant surprise, which was clean and bright. The bathroom was really lovely with a full bidet and powerful shower, and the bed was very comfortable, the room had a desk and convenient places to put your coats and bags. The common area was really lovely and comforting to chill, eat, study, with full kitchen facilities and also some snacks and drinks for sale.

SingaporeLocation is not bad - tip: its easier to walk from Beimen Exit 2 (Tacheng Street), just a straight road down then turn right at a small carpark. Otherwise can also walk 10-15min from Zhongshan MRT or Taipei Main! There is a nice Taiwanese breakfast option to the right (尚雯早午餐) or a small coffee place that sells really affordable and nice sandwiches/french toast to the left (初作早餐 塔城店/企業外送/下午茶訂餐) Walking to Ningxia night market is super easy as well! Facilities are very well organised, toilets/showers/washing up area/hairdrying area/laundry room are all separated, everything is very clean and at the hairdryer station they even provide cotton pads with Bioderma micellar water and Cetaphil body lotion!! The common lounge has card games which I used with a few other hostel guests. It was fun and chill (: A more commercial hostel so employees are less personal, but they will definitely answer all your enquiries and ensure that you are well taken care of!

The check-in and check-out were very fast, you put your shoes off and put your slippers on to feel at home, the common spaces are nice, the laundry corner is efficient and cheap, you can purchase postcards, the reservation is a good value for money… We warmly recommend!

United StatesThe mattress on the bunk bed was soft and thin so I could feel the plywood whenever I sat down or rolled over. I used the washing machine as well, but it somehow didn’t get some of my clothes fully wet even though it was not a very large load. You also cannot flush toilet paper in the toilets, which is fine, but I’m not used to it.
Really great location by Beimen Station, also a short walk from Ximen and Ningxia Night Market. The hostel is easy to find and is decorated nicely. The common area has places to sit and a really chill vibe. I don’t think there was 24/7 service but there were staff members there for most of the day who could help you if you needed anything. It also felt very safe.
