Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicWONDERFUL EXPERIENCE ♡ THANKS TO THE FANTASTIC CARE OF THE OWNERS COLLIN AND LESLEY WE FELT LIKE FAMILY. FOOD PREPARED WITH LOVE REALLY TASTES GREAT. A TWO-COURSE BREAKFAST WITH PANCAKES WITH FRESH TROPICAL FRUIT, AND AS A SECOND COURSE YOU HAVE A CHOICE OF OMELETTES, EGGS, SAUSAGES, ETC., WILL FILL YOU WITH ENERGY FOR THE ENTIRE DAY AND YOU CAN LOOK FORWARD TO A GREAT DINNER OF FRESH FISH OR CHICKEN. IT'S A QUIET PLACE WHICH REALLY IMPRESSED US WITHOUT BEACHBOYS AND MASSAI TO HURRY YOU ON THE BEACH. IN THE NEARBY, YOU CAN VISIT BUSY PLACES AND SUBMERGE INTO THE MIX OF NIGHT ENTERTAINMENT, BUT THEN YOU RETURN TO AN OASIS OF CALM, WHERE YOU ONLY HEAR THE RHYTHMIC SOUND OF THE OCEAN, WHICH WILL SLEEP YOU BEAUTIFULLY. WE ARE IN ZANZIBAR FOR THE THIRD TIME AND WE ARE GLAD THIS ACCOMMODATION DOES NOT ALLOW SEX TOURISM. THE ADVANTAGE IS ALSO THE SWIMMING POOL WITH CLEAN WATER, WHICH YOU WILL ENJOY USING AT LOW TIDE TIME. IT'S A Pity THAT WE ONLY BOOKED 2 NIGHTS. WE WILL DEFINITELY STAY LONGER NEXT YEAR. THANK YOU.

Unique accommodation with fabulous views. Hosts Lesley and Colin went above and beyond to take care of us. We loved every minute and can't wait to go back. Such a beautiful spot, close to local restaurants and bars. Colin's fish menu definitely worth sampling. This is a very special place.

SwitzerlandThe place is very special and therefore might not be right for everyone. I typically don't write reviews, but as the place is so special (and as I just missed a flight ;)) I would like to help directing the right people into the place: Come here if you are looking for: - a very personal experience with your hosts. After a very short time you will rather feel like visiting friends than being at a hotel. - amazing self-cooked food. Breakfast and dinner is also just like friends cooking for you. Collin is an amazing chef. Try his tuna steak. You will get cheaper offers for dinner in local restaurants, but in terms of quality and quantity they can't compete with Collin. Mind that Collin might not cook every night for you (e.g. when rugby is on), so talk early to him when you want to eat at the lodge. - a calm and spacious place in which you can sit directly at the sea in an exclusivity you will not have in all the nearby high-end hotels. You will have a huge property almost for your own. - very nice other guests. People are chilled and it's true what's written in the other reviews. Collin kicks out people who spread negative vibes ;-) - great views and a lonely sandbank. From the sand beach and pool terrace on the rocks right next to the sea and from the terraces of your bungalow you will have amazing views to the sea. Don't come here if you are looking for: - "Zanzibari 5-star service" in which you have a waiter every 5 meters serving you a cocktail and cleaners cleaning your room twice per day. It's just the 2 people owning the place and 1 employee. - A new hotel with a lot of standardization which was just build 1-2 years ago. The place was built over the past 20 years by the owners. Collin used to be in the construction industry himself so everything is built nicely. He does not like edges and standardization, so you will not feel like in a branded hotel. - Sand beaches to swim. Go to the west side of Nungwi.

United KingdomEverything was amazing
Amazing in every way. Amazing views, amazing location, amazing hosts, amazing food, amazing value, by staying over at game fish, you are about 25 min walk from the bars etc. This means you get to walk through the village streets. High five the local kids. Chat to the locals. (incredibly friendly and totally safe) or walk along the beach, depending on the tide. And if you don't want to walk back. Jump on the back of a motorbike. And for 80p each get safely back. (I've never been on the back of a motorbike before, and it really isn't a problem), which is another great experience in itself. We absolutely loved the place.

JapanWe didn't have anything we didn't like.
I chose the Game Fish Lodge after reading carefully all reviews. As other review says, it was a great lodge with hospitality. They helped us to organise our activities providing us with local information. I also liked a lot their breakfast - fruits, crapes, and main breakfast. The internet stability is good. We enjoyed having breakfast looking very beautiful ocen.

NetherlandsIf you enjoy more an all inclusive hotel with all the thinks that come with it don’t go here and book a 5 star hotel in Nungwi. If you like to be treated as family and open your self for it you will have a perfect stay.
Colin and Lesley are so friendly. Everyday feels like a present. They always present you with an excellent breakfast. And the diner cooked by Colin and Lesley are like a chefs diner. We were only there for three days and wished that we had booked a longer stay. We enjoyed staying there with other guest. Enjoyed the evenings and the sundowner.

SerbiaThe only thing we regret is not staying longer. Had we known how nice it is compared to other places, we would've cancelled our stay in Jambiani/Paje and just made a day trip to there, staying at Game Fish Lodge until the end of our vacation. You can really relax and unwind here, you feel safe and taken care of - so if in doubt like we were, book extra nights at Game Fish Lodge, hire a taxi and do day trips if you really want to enjoy the island.
We absolutely loved everything about this place! The location is outside of the crowded area of Nungwi so ideal for people who want to enjoy some peace. The breakfast is first class (the best!), the rooms are amazing with great sea view and the pool and lounge area are awesome to relax and chill. Collin and Leslie made it homey and gave the whole place a lovely atmosphere. They helped with anything we needed and gave us lots of advice. You can see they take care of every single guest that walks through the door and it makes all the difference. Thank you both for everything, we will miss you :)

GermanyColin and Lesley were fantastic hosts, sharing interesting stories, insights and tips. They took great care of us. The breakfasts were freshly prepared and tasty and Colin cooked the most fantastic sea bass we've ever eaten. The views, the sandbanks and the quiet setting made our stay memorable. We loved the private atmosphere with only 5 rooms. Because the hotel was so small, there was no lunch or service during the day. But drinks were available and several restaurants were close by.

This hotel is on the quieter side of Nungwi and has a spectacular view of the sea. There was a sandbank near by, which was nice to walk to during low tide. Very nice pool overlooking the sea. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a warm shower and a sea view. The room was very clean. The breakfast was incredible, the best we had in Tanzania. The owners, Colin and Lesley are lovely people, super welcoming and always willing to help. We had a seafood Christmas meal they made that was epic, best seafood meal ever! This is not a fancy place with cocktails by the pool, but it is homely, quiet and comfortable. We Will book here again if we ever return.

CanadaThe breakfast was massive and one of the tastiest breakfasts and dinners I have had. The owners are very personable and greet you by your first name every morning when they greet you and make breakfast. The resort is very quiet, private, and safe. The owners offered lots of suggestions to our questions which helped us select certain activities we enjoyed. The dinners are amazing value with insane flavours and quantity. ItalyThe water in the pool could be warmer :)
Wonderful lodge managed by a lovely couple: Colin and Leslie. They really care about every host, and immediately make you feel at home The facilities are comfortable and cozy but not excessively luxurious, just like a proper trip to Africa should be. Rooms are clean with direct view on the beautiful sea. With only 5 rooms available, the privacy and the quiet of the lodge stand out The position is great: direct access to a hidden, wonderful beach, and 20min walk (through an historic village) to the nightlife of Nungwi The food is amazing: breakfast is fresh and plenty and dinner consists of catch of the day. Large portions for small prices To summarize, I’d strongly recommend Game Fish Lodge to anyone looking for a lovely, quiet lodge with a “family-like” feeling in the beautiful Nungwi

South Africait could be considered a bit far from the real action of Nungwi if that’s what you go for.
It has a wonderful setting on the beach away from the crowds. The owners are hands on a involved which was great. The pool overlooking the ocean was great! The walk to the sandbank for sunrise was memorable.
