Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Nice hotel with a central location, our room was a good size with everything we needed.

United KingdomOur room was a corner room with a view of the internal courtyard. Because it was an internal corner room you only had one window which made the room feel small. We felt the room would be more suitable for a solo traveller and not two people with suitcases.
The room was clean and quiet. The location was perfect close to the Powell cable car, the F line and the BART to the airport. There is an excellent Irish Bar called Foleys within walking distance.

PeruThere's a strong smell in the rooms and hallways, maybe the carpet need to be cleaned properly. And also, the noise from the outside can go through the windows, so don't expect a room 100% silent. Is not something that will make you mad but you'll definitely gonna hear some noise.
The bed was really comfortable and the bathroom was big enough. The desk was also bigger than expected which was really helpful.

United KingdomChecked out over 2 weeks ago and still waiting for my deposit back (got it in a matter of minutes in other cases)… Noise - you can hear the floor above you & the aircon. My room had no view - just looked at some sort of quadrangle.
Central location. Comfy beds. Bit less modern vs expected. Complimentary coffee in the lobby in the morning. Kettle, mini fridge in the room. Tote bag with wine, water & snacks at check in. Luggage storage post check out.

CanadaLack of parking in the area. They do offer parking but it isn't cheap. Valet service though so you don't have to deal with it.
Well situated. Staff were helpful and polite. Housekeepers good. Little gift at check in, that was unexpected and very welcomed.

South AfricaToiletries were not regularly replenished and I had to specifically ask for them one morning. On checking in I requested my room to be cleaned daily (without replacing bed linen a towels - I consider myself an environmentally conscious traveller but don't like an uncleaned room), but it wasn't made up at all one of the days. I wasn't happy with that. An apology was offered when I expressed my unhappiness.
I very much liked the hotel's location within very short walking distance to the SFO airport train station and Union Square. The San Francisco cable car is literally around the corner at the end of the building and the tram station is behind the block. When it comes to convenience, Hotel Abri Union Square is unbeatable. There also several eateries nearby. The reception team was warm and welcoming and the room was comfortable and clean. Wi-Fi was great, although you have to connect afresh every time you return to the room. The welcome gift tote bag with a bottle of wine was the most pleasant surprise.

United StatesThere are no outlets to speak of by the bed. We did discover one on the baseboard, hidden by bedskirt. Found this our last morning there.
Location was near cable cars and shopping on Union Station.

New ZealandThe front floor requires to be unlocked (by reception) before you can open the door. It was just something I noticed the first time and saw others have the same issue. A sign would've been nice cause the number of people that would pull, then push the door, was so easily avoided.
Conveniently located near the Bart station, cable car and Union Square. Neighbourhood felt safe to walk around and has conveniently located groceries and eateries. The room was comfortable, and had all the basics you need.

United StatesParking is extremely costly, as is to be expected in SF. Unless you’re flying in and taking a taxi, an additional $60 is quite hefty to simply park your vehicle. The valet service is also unfortunately not the quickest unless you call well in advance. Additionally, the room view was nonexistent for us. We got a room facing inwards, which was disappointing as due to it facing other windows, it’s hard to keep them open if you want any privacy.
The staff was excellent! Check in was easy, and the front desk was extremely helpful when it came to getting food delivered late at night. The area is fantastic and central enough in SF to have easy access to public transit or nearby restaurants and shops. The building itself is gorgeous too, clearly a historic building with a tasteful redesign to modernize it without focusing too much on minimalism. The room was a bit small but very clean!
