Floor was dirty. I accidentally spilling water and used the bath mat to wipe it up. The mat came up very dirty. It made me realize the floor hadn’t been mopped in a long time.

Very nice and friendly staff.. really welcoming and easy going, tasty- homemade egg and mushroom frittata for breakfast and excellent coffee, afternoon treat: wine ,cheese and salami snacks- such a thoughtful touch . Room was cozy, very clean with all the conveniences :fridge, microwave and coffee maker with great selection of teas and coffee..we also made fire in the wood burning fireplace.. fantastic experience. This place is not pretentious or snobbish; it is comfortable and homey. We can’t wait to come back soon..

The staff at check in was a bit strange. Repeated himself several times and wasn't clear in responses when I was asking questions. Wasn't a great first impression. All rooms require walk up brick steps to access - there are no ramps (that I could see). This made it a bit challenging to carry my belongings up the steps w/no help from staff. It was doable, but unexpected. Finally, there were ants in the kitchenette area of the room.

The breakfast was amazing! Hot and homecooked each morning. It was nice to have a private patio as well - since I had my dog with me. The weather was great on our last morning so I sat outside to eat breakfast. The location of the hotel was also quite convenient. As I was told, you can park your car and never move it. And that's pretty much what we did. Parked the car for the 2 nights and walked everywhere. Saved from having to find parking in downtown.

The location was great and although there was parking at the property we didn't even need to use our car. We were close to shops and restaurants and were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. Staff was very welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed complimentary happy hour as well as coffee and breakfast in the garden area....so quaint and relaxing!

The facilities are a bit vintage and can benefit from some repairs and upgrades.

The best thing about Carmel Garden Inn is the staff, particularly Curtis and Cynthia. They are very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast is fantastic also, with different types of frittata every morning. Location is good and within walking distance to the main strip and Carmel beaches.

The curtains on the 2 windows that could be opened for fresh air either had no curtain (the bathroom) or sheer curtains and when either window was open, maintenance people outside could see right in. Some short "half" curtains could easily fix that and still give ventilation on hot days.

I loved the privacy of my room with a private courtyard. Parking was easy for guests. It was quaint and cozy. The breakfast offerings are great! Fresh cooked Frittatas each morning as well as other fresh made breads, homemade granola and fruit. Great local coffee too. The location is great! It is walking distance to several nice bakeries and many restaurants and shops. It is in a beautiful quiet neighborhood with big trees and rambling sidewalks and roads. The beach is not too far and a great place to watch the sunset on clear evenings.

The Inn was very quaint and the bed was so so comfortable. The room was a little small, but that was what I booked no fault of the Carmel Inn. I tried to get a bigger room, but they were booked solid. The Inn was so comfortable that the next day, the size didn't matter because of how comfortable the room is. Ooh I forgot, breakfast was really good too.

There is almost nothing that I did not like, but if I need to mentioned something. The bed sound every time you moved, Is comfy but it sounds! other than that it was really nice room and place.

Curtis was really soft spoken, calm, and friendly. He offer as information about the town and give us some recommendations. Nice breakfast and the room was really cozy, and clean. Specially recommended if you travel with your dog.

This is a very cozy bed and breakfast place. I loved the little courtyard in front of our room.  The staff were so friendly and helpful.  The free breakfast was much better than we expected and was very delicious. Location is perfect within walking distance to  all the stores and restaurants.

The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. A big part of our experience was how well the staff treated us. Breakfast is great and the rooms have a great table in the patio for us to enjoy breakfast with the family. Location is perfect since most Carmel attractions are just a 10-15 minute walk away.

The property as a whole is so beautiful and charming. I think our favorite part - besides the spacious rooms, yummy (included) breakfast, and great location - was that our room had its own private patio. The patio was so peaceful and perfect for an early evening drink or coffee in the AM! We hope that we can return sometime in the future, and stay longer than just one night!

The staff was very friendly and accommodated a last minute request. The location is within walking distance to lots of restaurants and shopping. It's just a short drive to all the big sur sightseeing.
