Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The location is great. Near the beach and Lulu’s Restaurant. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable. The restaurant and bar are on a lovely patio facing Diamond Head.

United StatesThe only thing was our room view being a sliver of the ocean. It would be nice to have a shuttle to and from the airport.
The hotel was clean and the staff friendly and helpful. We liked the location being near the beach and on the edge of town, but walkable to most things you wanted to do.

United StatesI booked a one king bed with no view. They gave me an “upgrade” room which ended up being two queen bedroom with a balcony. It was awful. We stayed on “level M”. Everyday from 3-4am you can hear the garbage truck picking up the bins. As well as there is a hostel right across the street and they can get very loud at night. So don’t stay on “level M”.
It was on a good location! Staff was amazing and kind!

United StatesWould have liked in room coffee and a microwave, but those things were minor.
Our studio room on the 17th floor had a spectacular view of the ocean. We loved being a little on the outskirts of Waikiki and yet close to downtown, Diamond Head and the zoo. The hotel staff was fabulous and we loved the open, airy feeling of the hotel. The Deck restaurant had amazing food and great staff as well! It was a really positive experience all around!

CanadaWe had an unusual experience with what appeared to be housekeeping staff accessing a phone that was charging while we were out. The manager response was “what would you like us to do?” - no suggestions of follow up with housekeeping staff or investigation - This just seemed like something they would want to know about - and we were sort of dismissed.

AustraliaRoom is petite, I am 6ft5 so the bed, bathtub and showerhead felt child sized, but it is what I paid for, there are many upgrade options worth considering.
Best value place in Waikiki, for a little bit of everything and at the most reasonable price for Hawaii. Nice little inclusions like free lei making, hula, yoga classes etc.

United StatesWaikiki and Honolulu over all is a disappointment of the Hawaiian culture. It’s a concrete jungle and the area of the hotel is home to lots of homeless people. Some who take showers at the beach and will be fully nude doing it. Parking at the hotel is $50 a night and is not guaranteed to be available due to its limited parking garage. We couldn’t get into the valet the first day and a half. This cost us an additional $74. While the rooms have been renovated the mattress they purchased are of lower quality as I could feel every spring and it really bothered my hips and ribs. Also, keep in mind if you use booking.com to book you get the floor right above the live music and get to learn the trash schedule of the street. Booking directly with the hotel will give you better floor where you will not hear all the street noise. Also, there was no mention of the valet cost on booking or the parking issues so that was an extra $361, I was not expecting.
The location had amazing views! Diamond head and the zoo were right out our window. The beach is a 3 minute walk and has shops and restaurants along the way. The hotel is animal friendly and has recently been renovated during Covid shut down. The lobby is open so you get to enjoy the breeze the island life provides. The aquarium is also just a short 15 minute walk under lots of trees so you get to enjoy some cover from the sun. There is a lot of paid parking in the area so you will always be able to find somewhere to park. Parking lot across the street is available for you to park at for a $1.50 an hour. The coffee downstairs is yummy!!
