Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

IsraelI prefer slightly firmer mattress for my bed. But it wasn't too soft to be uncomfortable! Price should have included the parking, to make it good value.
For me it was a bit on the pricey side (especially when parking cost was added) but that is probably due to the conference which took place in town at the same time. Other than that - the hotel was very good! Spacious, clean room & bathroom. Very good location. Good breakfast (for US standard...). Pleasant, helpful staff.

United StatesWhen I arrived to check in, it took the staff a long time to find my reservation that I made online. We finally found the reservation, and found out that the 3rd party booking site I used online had my first and last names mixed up. They had my last name as my first name, and my first name as my last name making it difficult to find my reservation. Also the room I got had a terrible view, I was on the bottom floor and the view from the window had me staring right at an area of the property that was under construction. So I couldn’t even enjoy my view at all and actually made me feel claustrophobic.
I liked the location. I also liked how clean and comfortable the room was.

United StatesFloors were very dirty-the dirt was visible and made our feet black. Leaking under bathroom sink soaked our socks. Parking stalls are narrow for bigger vehicles and the fee to park daily is high compared to its lack of security features such as a security gate. Never had to pay for hotel parking on other hotel property stays.
It was close to downtown but less expensive than some other hotels. It was mostly quiet but can hear footsteps upstairs. Hotel service was quick to respond to issues such as the leaking sink.
