THE SMELL… It was a strange and strong smell ( maybe old carpet, maybe it was a smoking room before) but it was very annoying for me. My husband didn’t care though

Large room with a couple tables and three chairs, comfortable clean bed, refrigerator, microwave, coffee-maker with free coffee and tea, everything for ironing, the hitter works perfectly. Free simple breakfast ( banana, apples, oranges, yogurt, oatmeal, pastries, coffee, hot chocolate, tea).

The door didn’t seal that well, so I’d imagine in the winter it might be drafty.

For the price, this hotel was absolutely fabulous! Inexpensive, super clean and the staff at the front desk made checking in as easy as could be. The room was a bit dated but it was large, had good lighting, very clean and the heat worked perfectly. The blinds were black out curtains, so it was dark and our room had a very comfortable bed.

I can't think of anything I didn't like about this place. It said what it offered, it delivered. That is what I want when I travel. No surprises.

I liked that the room had a mini-refrigerator, microwave, TV, and a coffee maker. It had shampoo, conditioner, and lotion travel size bottles. The ice machine worked well. The room was clean and linens were adequate. My favorite things about the experience was the price and location. It even had a continental breakfast in the morning. Many other motels in our travels said it had breakfast but claimed that COVID kept the motel from having the promised breakfast, with no money returned for lack of the breakfast offering. This motel DID have a breakfast.

The seal on the front door let in a lot of light and cold air. Used some luggage bags to seal it out as much as possible. The road sounds and upstairs guests could be clearly heard, but it was not unexpected.

This motel is a great place to stop on the long road through Nevada. Great price and value for room. Small facility, but great customer service and very clean. Well maintained. Had 4 sets of towels for the double room. Clean and fluffy. Each bed had 4 pillows also. Firm and comfortable beds. Small continental breakfast with fresh fruit, pastries, coffee, hot chocolate, and juices. Direct access to ground floor room from parking area.

Because it's a motel and cars pull up near your room, it's a bit noisy. I can live with that.

Staff is very nice. The location is within walking distance of most things in downtown Elko. THe price is low. As lomg as I have wi fi, a place to do laundry and can ake a bath, I'm happy. I don't like to spend much on accomodation.

The parking. There were no spots to park at the property. Had to park far away from our room. We could not see our car from the window.

Some of the attractions that I wanted to visit were closed or had limited access, such as, California Trail Interpretive Center.

The highlight of my stay in Elko was learning of the Basque history and culture. The Basque dinner at the Star Hotel was impressive and overwhelming. There was no way that I could sample and enjoy all the food offering include pasta, French fried, green beans, bread and salad. I completely enjoyed the cabbage soup (the best since I was a kid) , the lamb chop and the garbanzo beans.

Updated room, comfortable bed, all amenities -coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave, hair drier, and iron. Nice tall shower. Friendly accommodating staff. Parking available for large vehicle or trailer. Fresh fruit, pastry, yogurt incl w/basic breakfast. Good value all around. We also liked the restaurant next door for full hot breakfast.
