Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Breakfast is bla. 2 ice machines don't work & in this heat we want a lot of ice. I complained because our TV had descriptive dialog & the woman at the desk was basically I don't know, about TV & ice.

United StatesWhen we first arrived to check in, the guy at the front desk wanted to deny us of a room that we had already booked and purchased because my husband is 21 & I’m 20 years old. My husband was the one that purchased the room but I was called a “minor” and said they would work on getting us a refund, then he comes back and says he will allow it this once. Well, this morning at check out the front desk lady says we didn’t pay for our room last night and that he didn’t charge us, I booked the room online therefore there was no way to continue without paying. Our card was charged and we provided her with that proof as well as confirmation emails and the pin #. She asked to have our card info and I asked her for what she said to look it up and see if we paid, but in fear of getting charged twice I declined giving her the card info. I left her with my phone # & told her she could call me with any questions or further proof. Will not be staying here again or recommending to friends with unprofessional staff.
I liked that it was close to restaurants and stores.

United StatesOn Saturday April 9th we arrived to the our room at 11:40 and when opening the door we instantly smelled weed like if someone was smoking inside the room, we spoke to the employee at the desk and talked to him about our situation and the employee said that he couldn't do anything about it, so we gave him the room cards and left and told the employee that we were going to contact bookings and I'm still waiting for a response.

MexicoFront desk people a little rude, System was not working, I was charged on the internet (Booking) some amount and then I was charged full upon arrival in the hotel and had to pay cash as they did not have the system working, so I may loose the advance payment I was charged on the booking webpage. Now, talking about the Room, it had 2 non working lamps in the middle of the beds, the toilet had an hexagonal nut floating in the toilet and a piece of carboard inside the tank that made the water run and never fill the tank up; I had to fix it myself (meaning take the nut from the toilet and clean the tank from garbage), I also fixed the curtains that were hanging letting all the light in at night. The beds were squeaky, the blankets were not large enough to cover the whole matress and the Television never worked or there was no explanation on how to use it and jump from the bubbles screen to tha channels. I requested towels one night and the front desk had none in case of a emergency.
Breakfast was OK, location is excellent, the cleaning staff was nice.
