Mini frig gave new meaning to the word mini. I managed to get what I needed to in there, but it was really tiny. Toilet was so close to the wall, you had to practically sit on the toilet paper holder.

As we got in late, parking was hard to find as the hotel was filled. Other than that, no complaints.

The rooms I stayed in (I stayed two different nights, in similar rooms) both had refrigerators, an amenity I was looking forward to. But, unlike other hotels I stayed in on my trip, the refrigerators had no little freezer compartments in them. That meant I could not refreeze the freezer blocks I had in my small cooler, having to create in the morning a make-shift ice pack using my ice bucket's disposable liner and ice from the hotel ice machine. Other than that, all the room's appointments were very satisfactory. A possible downside for some travelers is noise. Traffic on busy Rt. 66 slacks off in the night, but freight trains run all night on the nearby railroad tracks. Because I wear hearing aids I didn't really notice the sound of the trains once I had taken them out for bed. But a guest with good hearing and used to sleeping in a quiet environment might have lost sleep.

The Econo Lodge on Rt. 66 in Flagstaff had an attractive look to it from the street and inside my room was very nice The bed was quite comfortable, the pillows good, no intense room deodorizer smells, everything clean, comfortable and well-appointed. When I spoke to staff they were always friendly, courteous and helpful. There was a decent Continental breakfast (bread to toast, peanut butter, butter, cream cheese, cold cereal and milk, small sweet rolls, small flavored yogurts and fresh oranges), but I skipped it as I try not to eat carbohydrates or sugar. A few boiled eggs would have been a real boon. I did have the coffee on offer, which was good.

We were on a cross country trip. Econo Lodges got some bad reviews on some of the facebook groups I belong to regarding relocating out of California. When we pulled into the parking lot I was a little worried. But the front desk person was very polite and helpful. The man that was cleaning up the parking lot was helpful and friendly. Our room was small but very clean and comfortable for a one night stay. We had a lot of stuff in our cars and trunks because we are relocating. It was so helpful that we could park right in front of our room, not only for unloading purposes but also to keep an eye on our cars. Breakfast was "continental" but there was enough choices that we didn't need to eat again until lunch. Not sure about other EconoLodge locations, but this one is clean and perfect if you are traveling across country.

Only drawback was train tracks across the street. Heavy train traffic most of the day and some at night. I am a heavy sleeper, so didn't bother me. If you are a light sleeper, could be a problem.
