Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThere are a few, individually small but frustrating things that fell short. It may not have generated enough profit but the lobby bar was great to meet people either early or late evening. The Starbucks is fine and Im sure they pay a great rent but there's certainly nothing unique or inspired about Starbucks and given the choice, which we took we walked blocks to go to a unique, privately owned cafe. On the house keeping end, its was late in the afternoon before our room was made up each day - 5pm ish. One of the bath towels had a wad of chewing gum stuck in it after going through laundry. when we checked in there were two boxes of M&M's on the mini bar - one had been opened and had just a few pieces of candy left. I don't know what's up with the bedding but the sheets are slippery and not comfortable to sleep in, what could be called a comforter definitely was not, and the plastic liner under the sheets made the whole experience pretty unpleasant. Getting charged $15/day on top of being one of the most expensive rooms in Pittsburgh is just dumb and insulting! First - you have to know that everyone who stays with you has some kind of technology with them - bake that cost in and don't make it feel like its an exception or a premium to what you market as best in class travel accommodations. Kinda feels like a road side motel when you get dinged for "extra" that's really expected.
It's a beautiful building that is holding up well. The staff is ambitious and accommodating - front desk, valet etc. Its a great downtown location.

NetherlandsThere was no fridge and you need to pay for internet. Though it is free once you sign up for a hotel membership.
The hotel was very good. Spacious room with a beautiful view. Very good hotel gym with a nice view and a lot of machines. They also had spa and wellness section. This hotel has a Starbucks downstairs so it was easy to get your morning going with a coffee. I love the LeLabo products they have in the bathroom.

United StatesLack of racial diversity in clientele and lack of thorough cleaning of guest rooms in the the midst of a high traffic period.
It was a luxury hotel. The food was great, it was also beautifully decorated. The service was great, and the few hiccups we experienced were handled excellently by the staff (shoutout to Jax and Niki)!

United StatesWe would not go back here again with so many other high end options in the area. The rooms are a little worn out. Tears in wallpaper etc. the lobby is beautiful! The staff was super friendly so I don’t want to take anything away from that. But there are no refrigerators!!!! In an upscale hotel this shocked me. The restaurant is really just a bar. So we found this hotel to be very non kid friendly. You also have to pay for internet.
Love the location. Especially during the holidays.

United StatesThis was an overpaid stay given the lack of usual amenities provided (i.e., no refrigerator, no bottled water, etc.). The parking was $47 (plus a $20 tip, so $67 total!) despite being able to get a $20 spot (I work downtown so I know they are right near the hotel). We requested a refrigerator to keep our breast milk in but it took over an hour to bring to the room, which required us to throw a portion of the milk out. I also found it strange that I had to proactively call to get a wifi password rather than it being written on our room key holder. I went to logon and it stated a $20 fee. I was lucky I called the front desk otherwise I would have to spend more money! We spent around $1,000 all in with our dinner at Fl 2, spa service and the stay, but I felt like our value was around half of that. Staff was very kind and the place is clean, but this is way overpriced when compared to places like Hotel Monaco that have a better quality of room at a similar price point.
Kind staff and clean.

United Arab EmiratesIt takes forever to get the lift I expected as a premium hotel they might be able to arrange transport , but they couldn’t. Maybe this is the norm in Pittsburgh, so I don’t want to single them out.

United StatesThe only issue was your card reader wasn't working right. It kept declining our cards felt embarrassed. I called my bank when I got to room and they assured me it was on the motels end. Besides that a wonderful experience.
Location. Went to PNC PARK for concert. Lobby was gorgeous. Your staff was very friendly. I liked having direct access to parking garage and paying your ticket in lobby before you left. Felt very safe for my family. Thank you so much. The view was amazing just as I was promised when booking. If I'm ever in town again I will be back.
