the room was very dirty. the doors hand prints on them brought own bedding since I used room for photo shoot. for the cleanliness of the room and pool not in service due to county not allowing it to open due to not being to county standards.

It was extremely dirty. The rooms were very run down and old. No work had been done to them in a very long time. The carpet was disgusting. There was no refrigerator which it stated as having.

I really feel I should receive a refund. My first impression when I arrived was negative. Some shady characters were hanging around and there was a hole the size of a large orange in my outside door and I couldn't get the door open with the key I was given. I checked the inside brieflly and left my belongings as I was due at a party and wouldn't be back until after dark. After leaving and knowing I would have to return after dark, I felt very unsafe in doing that. A friend came with me to collect my belongings and I left. I did not stay.

The beds were some of the most uncomfortable, I've ever slept on. Actually, I didn't really sleep because my back hurt so much. Very Hard and bouncy! The shower was so sensitive that it seemed like it didn't have cold water hooked up. The water was scalding hot, or off. Seemed more like a weekly motel, rather than one for tourists. Lots of what looked like shady meth people hanging around. The lady next door kept moving electronics from her room to her trunk.

The front porch had an ashtray. That was a nice touch

We did not eat the breakfast. Drove to a restaurant. Cleaning staff was very pleasant. Liked location of Golden Chain Motel. Near Grass Valley, CA. Off Hiway 49, up a steep driveway to enter parking area. Quiet. Would be good to install a vertical grab bar to the right of bathtub/shower for ease of entry/exit to the tub. Towel had an odor like perhaps they had not been sufficiently rinsed. Our room was the size of a small studio apartment. Golden Chain located in a forested area. We would return.

Lee was very personable and friendly. But this is a 2-star hotel for 3-4star prices. We chose it for the location - close to our other events. But the shower was very difficult to control the temperature and was mostly too hot. The beds had some kind of cover on them that crinkled whenever a person moved. The bathroom door was difficult to close fully. There was no bathroom fan - only a hole in the ceiling.
