Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesOutdated hallways! After you check in, the hallway and stairs areas were not showcasing the rest of the renovation. Maybe consider doing wood - floors in hallways and throughout.
I thought the room would be more expensive. We had a delightful stay! The staff was great, the property was perfectly located and we enjoyed the walking paths around it. The only suggestion: Update the hallway carpet and stairs. It felt outdated --- but the rooms were nicely decorated and updated! The equipment in the gym needs some TLC. One bike did not work, and one treadmill did not work. I would suggest updating the bike and treadmill equipment. The housekeeping staff was terrific, checking every day to make sure we did not need anything from them, and furnished us with new towels, and accessories as needed. Wildflower was a great restaurant - service, and food = really great!

United StatesI got a queen suite thinking it had more room to stretch out a bit. While leaving I saw that a two king room had more of an open feel. The suite was a little tight for what I was looking for. Although, if you want a separation of rooms than this would work. Also, a tough time to rate businesses as help is scarce still. Found something under the sheets that did not belong there, ugh. Could have been cleaner! TV’s in each room, fridge, micro….
Great location, close by to restaurants & brew pubs. Property had both outdoor and heated indoor pool, a bonus that we did not use. Also a restaurant attached that we did not partake in.

United StatesThe Grey Fox Inn is currently under construction. They were still working on the property while we were there. But it wasn't bothersome. The new restaurant, the Wildflower, was just opening on the day we were leaving. But that was ok, there are plenty of delicious restaurants nearby in Stowe. But the unit we stayed in was brand new and gorgeous.
We got a free upgrade to a suite when we arrived. Great price. The rooms are brand new, they were still working on the renovations while we were there. Our room was gorgeous, spacious, had a little outdoor patio, a fireplace. There was a kitchenette with a full sized fridge with freezer, a stove top, microwave, sink, and was fully stocked with silverware, pots, pans, cooking utensils. There was laminate flooring with a rug under the beds, which was nice for when we came back from the pool wet. There were a lot of shelves and storage space. They have a beautiful outdoor pool, 4ft-8ft, with gazebos to sit under. They also have an indoor pool and hot tub. The plants all around the property were beautiful. Our patio looked out over the grassy area behind the Inn, and there was a small bridge that led right to the Stowe bike bath. Very convenient to jump right on the bike path with our bikes You could see mountains in the distance and the sunset from our patio. Great location right on the main street in Stowe. Free wifi.

United StatesThe room's coffee maker was still as sad as I remembered necessitating an uncaffeinated venture outdoors to purchase a quality brew. Fortunately Nicole had mentioned that the "Stowe Bee" bakery/cafe was within easy walking distance so that saved the day.
Location is very convenient -- within walking distance to food & recreation trail. Front desk staffer, Nicole, was friendly and helpful. We had the same room as a previous stay a few years back and it had clearly been renovated since then.

CanadaThe facilities were excellent, and the staff was great! Rob at the front desk made us feel welcomed the minute we arrived. Our room was clean and well-equipped, with a cute little patio. The location was the best part - close to everything, and the Stowe recreational path was right in the back of the hotel. We're definitely staying at the Grey Fox again if we come back to Stowe.

United StatesNothing. My partner and I would love to visit again.
The caretaker at the front desk was so friendly and offered excellent advice to help us plan where to eat and view the eclipse. The property also cleared off all the snow from every chair and surface to make sure all the guests had a comfortable viewing area.

New ZealandIt is simply too expensive for the quality. Rooms are more like an average motel, area outside the room is shabby and the rooms sparse with stained furniture. In room tea/coffee facilities poor.

United StatesThe room was in the basement and we were not advised prior to our arrival (although the price is the same vs. another room at upper levels). When we communicated this feedback to the person at the reception as a genuine feedback (we made it clear that we are not asking to change the room), her response was that because we made the booking through booking.com and not through their website! So are we treated with less respect because we made the reservation through booking.com?! Also, the room had a horrible smell and is not isolated at all. We could not sleep because the people in the room next to us were watching TV the whole night.
The location is good; close to center and other restaurants/ pubs

United StatesWe felt this hotel is nothing short of a tourist trap. It's an older hotel that has not been maintained well and for $275 we did not expect to wind up below ground level. It was not very clean (the heat vents were gross) and the bathroom tub faucets made an awful sound when water was running. They charge an additional 8% "resort" fee but the only amenity we could see is a pool. The ice machine was broken and they have threatening signs up in the laundry room stating that if you leave your clothes unattended they will discard them. The front desk clerk acted like we were putting her out. Save your money and stay elsewhere.
The beds and linens were comfortable.

United StatesThe bathroom size was very small. The bathtub enclosure was in bad shape. The silicone strip had come off of the separation between the tub & the top, and either mold or grimey dirt is what you saw around the whole tub....really needs to be taken care of. Room 18. Only one small mirror which was over the bathroom sink...plenty of room for a full size mirror somewhere in those two rooms. You can't walk to town, too far. The problem is the traffic jams in Stowe that makes a short trip take a long time. No breakfast for a high rate for this room.
Beds were nice, nice linen. Two big rooms that added to the square footage but we didn't use the 2nd except to open the drapes. Great flooring.

United StatesIt's more about Stowe than anything. Getting food is more complicated than in a city. Things close earlier and delivery is more limited. Just plan ahead about food and you will be fine.
We arrived on a rainy day. I'd forgotten they had an indoor pool. The pool was very nice, as was the hot tub and the sauna! The rooms are large and the beds are clean and comfy. There is a small coffee pod maker in the room, a microwave and mini fridge that has a small freezer. I highly recommend this hotel.

United StatesFront desk not that friendly, just so-so. When we asked for more coffee packets for our room (2 people for 3 nights ) because it only had 2 packets, we were told they didnt have anymore and they were on order. Huh? Middle of summer season and no coffee packets. Not good. Also, No real ambiance in the outdoor space around the pool or in the courtyard, not even a plant. They really need to invest in outdoor ambiance, it's so important
Best thing about this hotel is the location. Bike path behind the hotel and a pretty short walk to Main St. Be sure to book Mountain View and make sure not on lower level
