How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

There's not much to dislike about this property to be honest. The rooms are maybe a little dated but that's nothing that some modernisation couldn't fix. The hotel was clean, breakfast was good and location was excellent so can't complain too much. Some people had written reviews about the elevators being slow but we didn't come across that on the 9th floor.
The location of this hotel is ideal for getting around the city by foot or by subway. Times Square is around a 10 minute walk on foot, the Empire State building is just around the corner and the subway station at 34th Street Herald Square is very well connected to other part of the city. Breakfast too was nice and substantial with a buffet choice available every morning morning. The selection isn't huge (around 4-5 hot items) but we had no difficulties with what was on offer. The waffles especially were a big hit with our fussy 10 year old. Staff too were very friendly.

One very noisy fan in the room (#2004), otherwise I would have given the room a 9.
Breakfast, location, very close to the underground, to Time Square, view on Empire State Building from the room :-)

Our toilet wasn't working great and overflowed. :( Also breakfast was very crowded and picked over on the weekend.
This hotel was in a great location! Our room had a wonderful view of the Empire State Building and Macy's.

I didn't like how loud the AC/heater system was. The washroom also looked like it needed all new tiling. The view was just some bricks. Breakfast can get VERY crowded. On the phone, I was told the room was two queen beds, but those were full size beds.
The location is amazing. Herald's Square can bring you directly downtown to Brooklyn, or Uptown to Queens. Koreatown has many great places to eat, and food markets as well for the fiscally responsible. I liked the outdoor front patio, and that there was a parking lot on the same street.

If you stay on upper floors, you have to wait an elevator quite long time. I lived on the 3rd floor and used the stairs - it’s okay
The location is the best. You can access to everything interesting in the city center. Decent breakfast.

Didn’t have any down side.
This property is two minute from the subway and parking garage. The place is clean and comfortable. The breakfast is great, and they serve cookies and coffee all day.

Some street noise, inevitable in Manhattan, though not a major problem for us. Only one armchair in room; comfortable seating for two would be an improvement.
Clean and comfortable room and bed. Reasonable size and adequate clothes storage. Good bathroom. On floor 3, so able to use stairs if lifts were slow. Friendly and helpful staff on reception desk. Location excellent, close to several subway stations.

Breakfast was really basic, I missed some fruit. But is was all in all really ok!
Perfect location to visit New York for the first time. We did nearly everything walking. Staff was really nice. Breakfast ok, basic but fine. Room had enough space for 4 people, 4 nights. Good value for money!

The road in front of hotel and walks are nasty. I don’t believe scaffolding across the road causes it. It just needs attention.

The fitness center could be better equipped

The room was a bit small and dimly lit plus the room staff forgot to make up our room a couple of times.
Loved the location being in the center of town with so much shopping and restaurants/eateries. The hotel is well maintained and clean. The complimentary breakfast is a bonus. The front desk staff is welcoming and very helpful. The room staff did a great job. The room was very clean, smelled nice and had everything we needed plus it was very quiet in spite of being in such a busy area. We would definitely return for another stay.

Pillows and beds could be more comfortable for the price you stay to stay here, rooms were very small, elevators got backed up often

Funny enough ....... the bed pillows . too soft
Location could not have been better off . Room was nice and comfy and very clean .. We had and found all that we need it in our room As for breakfast it was nice , good and fresh . Though missed the cold cuts , like cheeses and ham . Otherwise restaurant clean and the helpers around where all nice and helpfull . Keep up the good job !!!!

I was not told in advance that a security deposit was required. I had not factored that into my budget. Guest SHOULD BE NOTIFIED IN ADVANCE.
Breakfast options were great. The staff was visible and helpful keeping tables clean and refilling coffee and food trays.
