Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe only thing we did not like was that our room was an atrium view but it was an enclosed roof space, so the room was pretty dark since the lighting is not that bright. You have to park a few blocks away, so you have to drag your luggage through the streets, and we parked at 11am and did not check out until noon so we were charged for 2 days. We were going to dispute it, but we had to catch our flight.
Perfect location if you want to be by the pier and use the hop on hop off trolley since stop 1 is literally across the street. Staff was very friendly and helpful! Our check in was not until 3 but we arrived at 11am. I went in to ask to use the restroom and they said our room was ready if we wanted to check in early so that was unexpected and awesome!

United KingdomBreakfast service let the hotel down. Our table was not laid for us, we needed to keep asking for cutlery, water (which never arrived) and the choice of food was very limited - no croissants just muffins. The level of customer service in the restaurant did not match that of the staff on Reception who were excellent

United StatesView was a blank wall and given the warren of rooms, felt a little claustrophobic and concerned about evacuation in emergency. Next time, I would ask for a view room.

CanadaThe room was on the smaller side, with a window giving on an inside court which was very dark, despite the amazing day outside. Also, the light bulbs in the room were giving the sense that it was super late in the night when I had to come do some work in the room, while it was the middle of the afternoon and sunny outside.
The location is prime downtown Boston, close to the Quincy Market on the Freedom Trail. Lots of food options and touristic attractions around.

United KingdomPaid for window view but it only showed the hallway, no actual view. Website stated free tea & coffee & microwave, there isn't as there's now an overpriced restaurant. Toilet took forever to flush and noise sounded like a train siren. Boxed bedframe with metal on corners, we banged our legs on that many times and the mattress didn't fit.
Great location, rooms were large, lovely & clean.

Excellent location, perfect room (for us), great city The hotel is on the edge of the financial district and harbour area. This puts it in an excellent place for walking around the downtown area. The room was reasonably compact, but had everything else needed, even some things we didn’t need. The massive mirror gave a sense of space. It had a double shower, excellent for a couple on honeymoon! The elevator was quick and reliable. The staff on the front desk did more than just welcome, they provided excellent information about things to do for a short stay. A great place to stay for a couple of days.

CanadaLocation-wise, it doesn't get better than this. Very convenient to just walk around all the main attractions of seaside Boston and the financial district. Bedroom was quiet, which is very important to us, and very well maintained. Staff was lovely and offered us the possibility to store our luggage after checkout so we could hop around with no weight on our backs. Breakfast at the main-floor restaurant, Joia, was also satisfying :) Good parking recommendations too - driving in Boston is an utter nightmare.

BrazilAn espresso machine would make me happier. Prices are really high
Fantastic location, close to everything: 2 minutes walking to the Quincy Market, 5 min to aquarium, 5 min to city hall, 15 to Public Garden and common Garden, where is the beginning of the freedom trail, shops, cafes, restaurantes, harbor and museums nearby. The subway station is just in the door of the hotel. If you decide to go by train from the airport to the hotel, is a traveling of 2 stations. It was very convenient for me. The rooms are large, with iron, ironing board, safe box, refrigerator. Large restroom as well, with amenities, tissues and good towels. Supportive and nice people attending in the front door. Free water at the front desk. Be aware the housekeeping service should be schedule every desired day.

United KingdomIt would be nice to have a kettle in the room for a morning cup of tea, but there is a 7-11 next door where tea can be bought cheaply, and the adjoining restaurant provided cups of hot water for hotel residents.
The hotel is in a fantastic location, very close to Quincy Market and the harbour. We were able to walk to most of Boston's sights and attractions from the hotel, including Boston Common. The staff were friendly, the room was clean, the shower was powerful, and the beds were very comfortable. I'd asked for foam pillows on one bed (due to allergies), feather pillows on the other, and this was provided.
