Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesIt said they had a pool and a spa. The indoor pool was ice cold and there wasn’t a spa. That was reason we choose this hotel was so our son could swim and we could sit in the spa.

Got up the next morning to make some coffee...no coffee cups...grabbed a plastic cup so I could pout it into my travel mug, coffee pot wouldn't brew... Packed up my stuff went to the lobby for 24 hour coffee, both pots were empty... I survived but expected more

United StatesTables right in front of the elevator on the main floor and our floor made it cramped. On the main floor you had to guess what way those exiting where going so you could stand out of their way. We stayed for 3 nights, but we’re not offered extra towels or clean towels. We had a hide-a-bed for one of our people, but not blankets of sheets in the room to use on it.
The facility was kept clean. The maids let patrons have the elevator even though they had already waited through at least one elevator full of people.

United StatesRude staff, check in was not available even an hour after check in opening time. Limited towels in room, went to ask for more, “ we don’t have hand towels or wash cloths”. Room was dirty, air conditioner had crumbs, whole in window screen, couldn’t open without having bugs from the dump yard behind the parking coming in. Bathroom has mold signs and wall paper coming off.

United StatesPool was cold and chemical smell was terrible. Caused throat and nose irritation and sore throat in my daughter. My kids and I both were sneezing and had watering eyes. Also there is not a indoor pool, and a indoor heated pool. There is simply an indoor pool.

United Statesthere was no mini fridge, just a whole where one should have been, the place was covered in dust, the vents on the ac/heater unit was FILLED with dust, dirt, and debre. there wa sa broken knob just on the ground behind the chair in the corner, the bathroom sink stop was not attached so it kept staying down and the sink would fill with water and I had to stick my hand in it and hold it up just to drain. the whole hotel smelled like pool chlorine and everyone hallway was extremely hot.
I liked…. the location. having a Starbucks and IHOP so close was great.

United StatesThe front desk staff was horrible. We received notice that our stay was about to be charged to our card prior to the stay and a couple days later received confirmation that our payment was successful again prior to our stay. We reserved 2 rooms and when we arrived to check in they told my husband our payment declined and that we needed to pay for our rooms again if we wanted to stay and that it wasn’t on them. We stayed as every other hotel in the area was sold out due to the event we were attending and we were 3 hours from home at 12 am. I contacted booking.com and explained the situation to them and I was informed that they had no right to charge us for our rooms again as they could clearly see also that our payment was fully successful. I provided booking.com with all of the information and proof needed for the claim in which she also forwarded to the property. When she tried to contact the property they were very rude towards her and refused to refund us for the double charge. She explained to me that they had no right to charge us again there was nothing we had done wrong but that her conversation with the property went very horribly and that they seen no issue with charging us again. We use booking.com for all of our stays and have never had this issue so I know the issue wasn’t on their end!
