The room where I stayed was very noisy. The cleaning staff would be screaming to wash other at 7am and all the noise is amplified inside the rooms. The room I stayed at was next to ice machine and high traffic area so the constant noise thru the night made sleep very hard

Staff was very helpful and friendly, quiet and clean room. Love that it had a microwave and fridge in the room and breakfast was available for a fee. Love the courtyard that our room over looked. Lovely patio courtyard, has an old world charm. Very close to everything, easy access to bus stop in front of the hotel and two blocks away was metro subway access. We could take the metro bus to many sites, like LACMA, Peterson auto, Tar pits. Subway to Hollywood blvd. Great restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance and health food grocers like Erewhon and Lassen's.

The bathroom fan was super loud. It seemed like something was wrong with it, and there was no option to turn it off. I appreciated the complimentary coffee, but there were two of us and only one regular (and one decaf), which was disappointing. Also, my nightstand lamp and outlet were not working, so I could not charge my phone at my bedside.

I loved that it was centrally located and its old Hollywood style. I felt secure and appreciated the cleanliness.

Parking was cumbersome, one way entrance and exits. Not enough entrances to the hotel (foot traffic). It shouldn’t have locked front doors. Seems extremely uninviting to first time guests.

Price was reasonable and front desk was wonderful.

I will say that the room was a little small, not used to that. But the only thing that was really a problem for us was the air. We visited the hotel in March. The temperature was in the mid to high 60s some days. After sweating through the 1st night because we couldn't get the AC to work properly, we asked about the air the next day to make sure we weren't just unfamiliar with controling the AC panel and doing something wrong. We were told the AC in the room couldn't be controlled in the individual rooms. It was controlled by the hotel. I have never heard of that. When we tried to cool the room with the panel on the wall, the system only blew warm air. The mgr. said the panel only controlled the heat, even though there was a separate heating unit in the room. The mgr. offered us a fan to try to accommodate us. But unfortunately, the fan blowing on us all night only aggravated my sinuses and gave me a horrible sinus headache all that day. It's obvious there is an issue with the AC system but they just didn't want to state that. But that is something that definitely needs to work properly, with them being in a hot state. I cannot imagine what it would be like during the winter months. Unfortunately, with them having an AC issue, I can't really recommend this hotel, knowing someone could have an uncomfortable stay, the way we did. Honestly, I would have given them a higher rating if it wasn't for that huge issue.

Unfortunately, the outside pic on the website is the back side of the hotel, so it's a little deceiving. Even though this was an older building, it was remodeled and decorated nicely. The neighborhood wasn't the greatest and not what we expected, it was close to stores, restaurants and public transportation so it worked out fine. We didn't have any problems. The staff for pleasant and helpful.

The hotel was good, some hiccups with the parking you have to pay parking separately $35 dollars per day additional, just make sure they register your vehicle in reception if you don't want to deal with problems when getting out of the hotel.

TV ..it's awful..who ever their provider is..the channel selections were so strange. None of the normal channels like ESPN or CNBC..just cbs, NBC, Fox, abc ..the rest of them I've never heard of and the offerings were Awful..such a nice place to stay..with the worst TV service I've ever experienced!

No hand towels. Bumped soap dispensers in the shower a few times. Could use a rounded curtain rod. Renovations ongoing. Tough to turn left when exiting the parking lot.

Secure parking with good lighting. Clean room. Comfy bed! Friendly staff. Built 1903 but looks better than the last H hotel I visited. It’s nostalgic! Definitely good value for one night. Didn’t swim but pool area is inviting.

No breakfast or bar. Closed for renovations. The room did not have enough lighting and the fixtures were outdated. They need to be freshened up. I usually don't have negative comments. However, for what we paid I would have liked to experience the whole package. No breakfast and the bar was closed. Both were due to renovations.

It was very close (1 block) to The Vermont Hollywood music venue). Very convenient.

The staff wasn’t very helpful. I had requested a room on topfloor which they didn’t have. Asked what else could be done and basically they said it is all too much work to change it. I later told them I woke up from the music they started playing in the patio at 8 o’clock (where there was no one at those hours) and they said: that is how the manager wants it. Weird answer. I also had to ask what was going on cause in the room everything would be turned off after 20 minutes of no motion. You could turn on the lights near the bed or charge your phone. The lady at the counter said: oh, does that bother you? I’ll turn that off. Duh.

The breakfast facility was under renovation so the complimentary breakfast was not being offered at this time, which I really missed because there aren’t too many options for breakfast nearby. The towels could be in a little better condition, mine had stains and looked a little dirty, and the room had a few ants. But in general, I had a great time.

The staff was super friendly and helpful, the room was lovely and comfortable, and the overall stay was super pleasant. It’s also super quiet so I was able to rest quite a bit.

I was sad that the bar and restaurant and all means for food at the hotel were closed down. You had to leave to go find any, I guess that’s why it is a decent deal for staying.

The location was great and the courtyard was really pretty. The staff were also very nice.
