Noise

Friendly and quick desk, they upgraded us to a huge king room. No smell, bed was great, and it was very clean. We use "budget" hotels often, this is the nicest room we've gotten at this price point. The walls are thin, otherwise I genuinely could not ask for more. (I copied my own review from Google into Booking)

I will start off by saying that I have stayed at my share of dives and enjoy finding diamonds in the rough when it comes to booking new places. I am not one to complain, all I need are very basic things, a clean room and bed and I’m happy. I came here with my mother and my son over the weekend for 1 night to visit Ocean Beach park. The sign is in rough shape, no biggie. We walk in and it’s smells strongly of cigarette smoke, our room however smelled much better aside from the bathroom being Smokey, no biggie. My son took a shower when we got to the room because we had spent the day on the beach and wanted to wash up. A half hour later his feet were black from walking in the room barefoot. At this point we are all starting to notice bug bites. We held off just thinking that maybe we had gotten them on the beach. I end up taking a shower and get ready for bed. Almost immediately my mother and myself are just getting bit up and my son who is now sleeping has one on the side of his face. I HATE complaining, I won’t even send my food back at a restaurant but this was really bad. it was surprising because the mattresses were new and super comfy and the staff were very nice. We ended up leaving the hotel at 9:45pm with a sleeping 7 year old to go pay double to stay last minute at a holiday inn in new london. My son has 2 heart conditions and I just couldn’t risk trying to overlook really big problems. Out of the 10+years I’ve been booking through Booking.com I’ve never had to complain Nevermind leave any type of lodging due to conditions. It was a very disappointing and quite frankly gross experience.

The hotel was older, but our rooms were very good. Clean. Bathrooms were clean and neat, bed comfortable, rooms were larger than we thought. Heating/cooling was excellent. Excellent location. Glad we picked the Motel.

The facility does need some work, but it wasn't an issue. As other reviews said, the lobby does smell like smoke; however, the hallway do not and room did not. I think it is the outdoor smoking area is coming in open windows.

Kim was so fantastic! We were going to be late coming in and it would be after the front desk normally closes. Kim immediately said "no problem". She had us ring her when we arrived and was so sweet despite the late hour. The place is a great value for the area! Most hotels in the area are $200-$400/night. This was only $128/night and perfect for just a place to crash after a long day. It was clean, which is the most important thing to me.

The living quarters were clean, however the building itself needs maintenence. Wall paper peeling, stained ceilings, mouldings separating from ceiling and doors. Needs painting. For non smoking facility. It reeked smoke odor.

Clean comfortable bed, plenty of hot water, pretty quiet room. Good recommendations for dining in area.

Dirty looking carpets, mold in freezer drip pan, dresser side coming apart, light shades old and broken, pillows not comfortable, rust stain on bed box spring, dirty microwave, toilet rings and old stained tub. Definitely needs remodel. Stairway rugs dirty. Confirned and paid for 2 queen beds , said not available, had to take room with 2 double beds. Coming back in dark, hotel sign not lit up, poor lighting in front of hotel. No one at front desk when going in. Definitely not a place to stay again

I booked two queen sized beds, and the booking said that continental breakfast would be available. We received two twin beds and there was no continental breakfast. The property was in such poor repair that I didn't bother complaining about the twin beds- I was afraid to see what other room they would put me in. In my room, the tub drained poorly and the light above the sink didn't work. The hall smelled like smoke. Much of the property was in disrepair. If not for the cancelation fee, we would have left after the first night.

The staff, when available, were friendly.
