How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The front desk staff was incredible. I forgot ative and very helpful. Neveah was so kind and helpful. Truly why I gave the stay such high marks!

Furnishings were dated. Not much attention to detail. Noticed some painting had been done on the ceiling in front of the front desk at sometime back. The Blue paint tape is still around the base of the ceiling light fixture. Looks just like no one cares about the little details. My drain in the bathroom sink needs to be cleaned out as it drains super slow to where I had to turn the water off several times while shaving.
Staff was super friendly especially Neveah! Lobby and elevator were secure.

I was told that our room would be cleaned every other day, but that did not happen. During our trip, my child was sick and we needed a change of sheets, but no one from housekeeping was on duty, so we were given sheets and changed the bed ourselves. Because the bed is made up differently than a bed at home, it was never as comfortable after we made it up ourselves.
They offer a good complimentary breakfast each morning.

I did not like that when I got there they said they would be holding an extra $200 that will be returned after my stay. What if I didn’t have that to hold? The whole purpose I booked there was for the price. Also don’t like that there’s no parking garage but valet for 55 a night

I didn;t like that there was no water in the room. I had to ask at the desk. Also I had to ask for body towels. While I had the full window view; it looked out on a construction site. Yikes! Minor but below average for a Hyatt Hotel.

The washroom didn’t had the shower curtains and also no exhaust fan. Also the washroom door was not proper. If you are staying with friends then it would be a problem.
It had very good view . Was at the perfect location near the subway.

Very short staffed. There was a lot of ppl staying but there was only one person serving the breakfast. Not very much gf options. Breakfast was till 9 am but 8:30 no more breakfast and ppl were in line and they couldn’t eat.
The room it was nice and comfortable.

I enjoyed my stay at Hyatt Place Washington. Loved to be not far from the train station, Capital Hill and from many handy stores. The room was comfy, bright and spacious, and the bathroom as well. Breakfast was various enough and there was space (sitted) for everybody.

They did not clean the room for the whole time we were there. They had someone else name's on the room when I went to get an extra key. Then they were very slow correcting the problem. They came in the room while we are in and we did not hear the door knocking before coming in. Location around is very rough. I think the staff is trying to be nice but they are not able to provide an acceptable level service.

Location is noisy, lots of driving happening around the hotel so it’s hard to fall asleep. Not all the necessary toiletries are provided in the rooms ,so you have to ask at the front desk.
