Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesRoom charge was $60 more than I was quoted at Booking.com. I realize everything is more expensive in Alaska but felt I was being taken advantage upon. Woman at the desk was a bit busy and abrupt when we checked out.
Breakfast and morning staff were great. Welcoming smiles made a difference. Good tasty and prepared well food.

United StatesA bar and actual dinner level restaurant. Especially stran by e to not have a bar open in the hotel for our entire stay. It was fine as there are plenty right here due to a great location but that and a hotel restaurant (not just a Bkfst cafe) would be an improvement.
All was fine

United StatesOur room was incredibly hot and noisy even with the radiator turned to low; possibly near a mechanical room. Had to leave a window open the entire time, which was difficult to open because the window latch was broken. Shower was difficult to use and small. Bathroom shelf fell off and nearly shattered (made of glass). Poor quality for the nightly rate.
Nice location in town. Friendly staff. Breakfast on site.

United Stateswe were placed in room 427, as was another of our party the week before. When we entered the room it must have been 90 degrees plus since the heater was on full blast. There was an air conditioner in the room which when turned could lower the temperature to a tolerable level but it was so loud it was IMPOSSIBLE to sleep. Fortunately the hotel was not full and we were moved. MY QUESTION IS WHY DID THEY PUT ANYONE IN THIS ROOM? The heat could NOT be turned off and this room should never be used until the thermostat is fixed which they apparently cannot do. the first stay one week earlier we noticed you had to open the door by turning the door nob UPWARDS and at the same time lift the door upwards as well. Every door in the hotel was the same. Who ever heard of door nobs that have to be turned upwards to work. This hotel is so old it need a complete makeover!!!!! We would never stay there again.

United StatesThe front desk staff was not friendly. When I asked for extra hangers, I was surprised the reaction was rude and negative. They were short staffed, as is every business, but when we asked them for information or help, they did not makes us feel welcome. They actually gave our room to someone else after we checked in, so when I went back up to the room, another family had moved in! It would be nice to have a tub grip in the shower, as it was slippery. Not having a fan or window ventilation in the bathroom lent to either being steamy or stinky. A window that could open would be valuable. For an expensive hotel, the TV was cheap. The room door stuck which made it very loud to get in and out. The general condition of the hotel is run down, and could be freshened up to be just beautiful.
We loved the beds and pillows. The room was spacious and had a bunch of big windows. It was clean and even though there was no room service or daily cleaning, the hotel was responsive when we asked for something. The room was conveniently located by the ice machine, the elevator, the stairs. The downstairs Bubble Room had wonderful food. The waitress in the breakfast room was super friendly and efficient. We couldn't beat the location... so close to food and downtown amenities.

United StatesWish they provide shuttle service to and from the hotel. The taxi service is very expensive. The bedroom was a little worn but acceptable.
They served an excellent breakfast. There was a breakfast buffet for $20 which was worth is or you could order from a menu at a similar cost. We did the buffet, which included everything you could want. The location it great. It is in walking distance of all the shops and restaurants in downtown Juneau. It is also in walking distance of the Mt. Roberts Tram which we also highly recommend taking. The bed was very comfortable and the staff was good. We had a nice harbor view from our room on the 8th floor.

CanadaEVERYTHING, Especially the managment
I think that the management of this Hotel is very poor. The furniture is old and with lots of scratches and some of them are broken, the bed mattress is not comfy at all but especially the service was really poor. Your staff didn't follow requests, the breakfast even paid in advance was so poor that we had to make it again outside, no milk, no yogurt at 9:00...IMPOSSIBLE

United StatesThis hotel was recommended by our cruise line. Our first room was terrible. Second floor, at roof level, all noisy ventilation equipment outside, window screwed shut. Hotter than hell, one tiny fan, no air conditioning. No one should be put into those second floor rooms! So we demanded another room. They moved us to 9th floor with queen bed that faced the water. Much better because we could open the window and there was a fan that helped with air circulation. The historic aspect of the hotel is not enough to justify the cost. Also, they do not provide shuttle service from/to the airport so we paid a taxi.
Location in town. Bed was comfortable.
