Only 1 out of 2 elevators were working during our entire stay. One day, the only active one also stopped functioning. We had to take the stairs to the 9th floor several times that day! The room was tinier than expected and when compared to the pictures posted online.

The location was perfect! Very central and lots of restaurants nearby. The receptionist who greeted us (Tom, I think) and the bellman/baggage handler were also very nice and friendly. Rooms were cleaned daily.

1. The water in the bathroom was not warm enough to take shower. I kept bathing as waiting for hot water to run but no hot water until I had to stop my shower. I was so cold that I felt like sick. And also there was a problem with water drain in the bath tub. 2. When I came back from gettin my morning coffee the next day morning, my room door was open. Perhaps house keeper wanted to see if I checked out. But she should make sure to close the door. It was very unpleasant and insecure experience to me.

When I called the front desk and complained about water temperature in the bathroom, the response was very quick and prompt. Maintenace person came right away to fix.

Lifts are a disaster and need replacing. Incredibly slow when the two of them are operating. On day of checkout one stopped operating entirely and we were stuck with 5 suitcases on Level 12 for 30 minutes before the one operating lift arrived. Took another 10 minutes to make its way down to the lobby after pausing at each level for a minute. Front desk/concierge phone rang out the entire time. Best to ask to stay on a lower floor just in case the lifts break down again. Fire stairs are easily accessible and very manageable from a lower floor.

The room really need a face-lift. Seems like everything been standing still since 1978. And because of this, it also felt dirty. Brown carpet, old funitures, bathroom was worn down, the gym had a few machines from late 80th (my guess).

The location was good and the enterence was nice.

It is necessary to invest in soundproof windows. I arrived early and had not checked in early. OK perfect. But the attendant said that he would accommodate me in a suite that didn't have too many problems with noise, so I would be free. I left my bags and went out to see the city. And when I returned I had to do the entire check in process again. And I stayed in the noisiest suite the hotel has. Bad experience

Extremely expensive for what it offers. Old hotel with old furniture and dirty windows (barely could see anything). It has only 2 elevators that work horrible and after one day one of the elevators broke down and it wasn’t fixed until checkout day (in 4 days). It was a nightmare to succeed using the elevator from the 7 floor (and having also luggage when leaving the hotel) because it was always full of people going down from the floors above. Waiting time to enter the elevator - 15/20 minutes that day. Also, a fee of 50 $ is blocked by the hotel on your card as a warranty, amount that should be unblocked immediately after checkout if no incidents happen. After 5 days this amount not only that hasn’t been unlocked, but is has been charged at settled. Only after calling the hotel and waiting for 24-48 hours this amount has been returned to me. Regarding toiletries shower gell was completely missing and the other ones were extremely small and poor quality.

The location was very good and we could leave the luggage there before checkin time and after checkout.

The cleaning wasn't the best, but hey, it's New York, everything's dirty.

The room was spacious, the terrace overlooking the Empire State Building is great! The location is amazing, plenty of great restaurants in the area, most of the sights are within walking distance (if you like walking), also the train station and the subway is very close.
