Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaAs has been mentioned, parking is a bit expensive but to be expected in a downtown core location like this.
The room was most comfortable, with a small sitting room and corner windows. We especially liked the Oliver’s bar on the main floor as well. Good food and great service…and excellent ambiance with the big windows. A classic older hotel that has been renovated or maintained to excellent standards. Location was very convenient to sights…not too close to Pike Place but close enough.

GermanyI had asked for a quiet room, away from stairs and elevator, highest floor possible. The requirements were met; however, my room was over a huge vertical ventilator, which rotated.
Location is central. Very friendly staff/personnel. Room was safe and clean.

AustraliaGreat location, we caught the transit from the airport which dropped us at Westlake centre a four minute walk away. The space needle and Pike Street market are easily walkable.

United StatesOur car was broken into in the hotel parking facility. Thankfully, the car was not damaged and losses, while annoying, were not of the sentimental nature. Hotel has assured us that we will be contacted by their insurance company. Downtown just doesn't feel safe anymore and while that is certainly not the hotel's fault, it will probably influence our hotel location the next time we visit Seattle.
Love Olivers. Hotel comfortably old-fashioned and proud of it. See problem below; staff took care of it professionally and efficiently.

ItalyThe hotel is in an historical building, in a perfect location to move around downtown Seattle. The room we had was extremely comfortable and spacious, as well as very quiet. The view from the room was also a plus. All the staff was exceptional and friendly. They provided us complementary umbrellas for the rainy days.

NetherlandsThe wifi was really bad. The direct surroundings were doable but when you walk to third and second avenue the amount of homeless people is too much.
The hotel was beautiful and the staff was nice. The Valet was perfect. There is an Italian restaurant down the street. Perfect food.

CanadaWas not as clean or nice as the pictures show. It was very overpriced in my opinion. The drain of the tube was clogged and I let them know from the beginning and it was not fixed.

CanadaNothing to complain about, really. The bed could be more comfortable though but it’s just a matter of taste. For me it was too soft.

United StatesParking is expensive at $45 per night. We stayed at this property only overnight (roughly 13 hours in the place), and the parking fee felt pretty steep for such a short stay. In the room itself, some things were awkwardly placed, which would have been an issue for a longer stay. For example, the outlets are hidden behind furniture for the most part, and not east to get to. There is oddly a strip of outlets along the baseboard in the sitting area, but they didn't work. The shower is a showerhead retrofitted into a bathtub, and the tub is slippery when wet. Also, there is virtually no countertop space in the bathroom for putting things down, not even a place to hang a hand towel.
The location is great for a longer stay, easy walking distance to Pike Place Market. The staff were very polite and helpful. The room was spacious, and the beds were very comfortable.

United StatesValet parking at 5 p.m. on a Friday is tough. No surprise to have to circle the block a couple times. The valet acted like I should already know what to do in the tiny little curb space, and got huffy when I asked for clarification. He just kept airily waving his hands and frowning at me. After some pull over here, no go over there nonsense, he didn't even ask to take my bag out of the car or up the stairs! The a.m. valet however, was awesome! Rough day I guess.
This property exudes another era at every turn. I always feel a little like I'm in an Agatha Christie novel ;-) Oliver's bar is a perfect spot to people-watch while the Andaluca rest. is a dreamy blend of sophisticated decor and delicious, elegant meals (with surprisingly good prices). Every single person I met inside the facility was a top notch hospitality professional.

United StatesA higher profile commode would have been lovely. We are old 🤪.
The professionalism and smooth efficiency of the staff was terrific. We arrived in the middle of the night and checking in was fast, friendly. Every time we picked up or returned the car for parking, the valet was right there, and.very cordial. Housekeeping was cheerful and made sure we had everything we needed. The front desk staff was great. The restaurant was luxurious and service was top notch. The room was large, clean, and had everything we needed. My sister and I were both quite impressed.
