How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Slightly small room. Would have liked an easy chair in the room

It only had a head shower, not a lot of pressure.
Breakfast was very good and set you off for a great day. It was walkable to Maine cities and around the corner from Metro, as well as just a couple blocks from the ferries.

It would have been nice to have a place to fill up water bottles somewhere and coffee/tea kit in the room
The room was clean, small but well organized. Comfortable bed. Very good breakfast.

The room for 2 persons was ok but there was not enough space for 2 big suitcases as the room was pretty small.

Gym was tiny breakfast was super basic
Location to trains huge plus the standard room is tiny but the suite was perfect and not on the street so shockingly quiet for NYC The street side standard room was sufficient but almost no space for luggage

But the air conditioning in the room was broken, they put in a portable air conditioner, but the hose kept falling out and it happened at night, we woke up to a room burning so hot.
The hotel has a great location, good breakfast, the room is of an acceptable size, the room is clean.

The standard rooms are very compact even though expected. It is Manhattan after all and if you are in the general population where £250 per night for 2 people is your price point, then this is what you get. The Hotel do offer larger rooms and if you can afford them, they are worth it.
The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring the South of Manhattan. The World Trade memorial is walkable and there is a subway station just outside the hotel. Plenty of restaurants, bars and shops near by. The actual hotel is very chic and staff are friendly and helpful. We had breakfast included in our rate which is at the adjoining bar/restaurant. Fairly basic and repetitive - but adequate.

Unfortunately the room was small which would have been totally fine if it had been just me and my husband but we had our 2 children with us and the room felt cramped with 4 of us and our luggage!
The hotel was conveniently located - the subway was right outside and there's a Starbucks next door and a restaurant attached (Serafina) where breakfast is served. We also ate here one evening and the food and service was excellent. The hotel was well maintained and clean and just had a really nice vibe.

the bathroom could have used some organizational features so two people could share (behind-the-door toiletry caddy, more hooks, riser shelf above the sink). the lighting was very harsh - dimmers would be nice. our room didn't have much personality, but it was comfortable.
good location for the activities we wanted to do. nice to have breakfast included each morning. the bed was comfortable, and the room a nice size.

The room is a bit small.
The location is great, just next to a subway station. The breakfast is awesome, much better than expected. A lot of variety. The staff is very helpful.

It was a family stay I thought breakfast was included but they only gave me vouchers for 2 over the course of the stay. Needs to be more clear cause would’ve chose the cheaper option rather than the included breakfast option. Also there was some construction going on so there was a strong glue odor in the front lobby.
Location was awesome and staff was great.

room was small, but not surprisingly so. there was no room for hanging clothes in the "closet" so that could be a deal breaker for some.
Staff are SO lovely. Bar is super cool. Included breakfast next door is lovely (except they don't open early, so you can't rely on them for morning coffee)
