The coffee maker made terrible coffee and there was no provision for making tea. There were no extras like cookies or snacks or wine as we have often had at other heritage inns. The television coverage was minimal and the Wifi coverage was variable.

The location was perfect - close to restaurants and shops but also the beach. The flower gardens are gorgeous and the architecture charming. Our room had windows on two sides with a lovely view out to the courtyard and trees. One of the reception staff was very friendly and helpful with advice on good restaurants, walks, etc. The heating was excellent and quick, the bathroom modern with an excellent shower. The linen was high quality.

not much on property parking so had to park on street which subjected my car to vandalism. And no AC in the room. we didn’t need it given the cool weather but could have if it was hotter

We found the price was high for what you get although we recognize that it was on par for the area which is generally very expensive.

The location was wonderful, just at the end of the downtown retail strip and a few blocks up from the beach. And the rooms were modern and very clean.

Parking spaces to small and hardly any spots open. Door to TV cabinet would not stay open. Phone checkout took way to long, so I had to go to the front desk to check out!

Location was perfect on Carmel's main street, Ocean. Quick stroll downhill to the beach and convenient to popular Carmel restaurants and shopes.

Our particular room had no view to speak of and could use updating. TV was too small for size of room.

Parking is very limited but apparently that is the norm for the area. No refrigerator, no A/C. We were here in mid-September and nights were mid-50’s so we left the window open and that kept it adequately cool. No breakfast due to COVID-19.

Rooms are lovely, bathrooms are excellent. Staff is wonderful. Location is walking distance from restaurants, a coffeehouse, shops, and the ocean.

The carpets are old and internet was lacking, but if you’re not spending time at the hotel, then it’s not a deal breaker.

The location is just great. We went to the beach everyday during our stay since it's only minutes away on foot. It's also close to many great restaurants. Everything was excellent overall.

Parking!

Nice older property that has been completely remodeled. It’s location is great for going to the waterfront or to city shops. Parking is less than desirable, especially when all the people flock to Carmel. Overall, very comfortable.

The rooms were dated. For the price point it did not meet our expectations in this regard.

Staff was accommodating, friendly and went out of their way to meet my request for a refrigerator. Service was great!

The walls between our room doesn't filter out all the noise, knowing the historical build there isn't much you can do about that . We could hear conversations from next door early in the morning. Luckily it wasn't constant.

The location of the Normandy Inn was great. It was where wanted to be, close to shopping, restaurants and the beach.

I was a bit disappointed with the tiny parking lot. We got lucky and found a spot in the street, but then didn't want to drive anywhere else in case we lost our spot. Also the swimming pool was closed😢

Such a beautiful property in a beautiful garden town. Very picturesque.
