The fire-pit is an amazing included amenity! The rooms were very spacious and up-to-date. The included breakfast was DELICIOUS. We loved the small town feel of our visit.

There was a crazy marble lip between the bathroom and sink area. Nearly broke my toe stubbing it on solid marble. Hurts like the Dickens.

Very nice setting, amenities and facilities. Lots to do and room were nice.

The staff didn't seem to know much about the area or the hotel itself, amenities and some attractions at inside the hotel itself, or if the most popular local restaurant which had a full page description was even open or needed reservations.

The "Motel" is very clean and more of a small resort. The room exceeded expectations, it was clean and spacious with nice crabtree and Evelyn products.

The beds were super uncomfortable. The staff were a bit crabby, one even muttered how she couldn’t do it all. I know there’s a shortage of staffing in general, so understand that they are probably overworked.

The location is fantastic - easy walk into town. They have golf, tennis, an outdoor pool, and an evening fire pit, which were all great, especially for those of us with kids.

We stayed in a king suite - the living area couch felt run down and appeared dirty, there were dead plants in the pot outside our door - they looked like mums from the fall of the previous year - our "patio" which reception bragged about, was a deck with peeling paint and yard/tree debris all over the decking. We pulled the curtains to avoid looking at it - it was that bad. I don't recommend their free continental breakfast - walking into town for breakfast is worth the money and effort. Our bedroom TV did not work properly but we were only there one night and didn't need it so we didn't complain. I found the king suite expensive for one night but we did book last minute.

Location was perfect for walking into town (walkable to Ye Old Tavern, Thai Basil, shopping, outlets, etc.). The staff was friendly. Property amenities were nice - golf, bon fire, tennis, heated outdoor pool, yard games, etc. Our room was clean and bed very comfortable. The Palmer House really is about location. We have stayed before and will stay again for short overnight trips b/c of this.

The space felt less safe as it was missing the extra chain on the door, the deadbolt was difficult lock and the room phone wasn’t plugged in. There were also parts of the space that weren’t fully cleaned: the shelf in the shower still had soap slime a previous bar of soap and the extra blanket appeared to have a substance stuck to it a large portion of one side.

The staff was kind, friendly and helpful. The atmosphere felt peaceful while I was there. The resort is located on beautiful grounds and just a short walk from downtown.

The rug in the room was very dirty. The chair was also very dirty….worn and stained. The property looked deserted upon arrival and stayed that way for two days. Grounds not very well kept. Bathroom had some kind of small bugs in the tub. What appeared to be a blood spot on the shower wall.

The location was great. I didn’t have the breakfast. Bed was comfortable and sheets and blanket were clean

Everything is I. Disrepair and dirty. Staff not friendly or inviting. The young girl at the reception desk is very intelligent and needs to bring her talents elsewhere. Her manager actually berated her in front of guests. Upon arrival we saw broken up pieces of marble around the flower beds, the structures have rotted and peeked woodwork. I can go on and on. The rooms had scuff marks on all walls, tv didn’t work, rust tub spout. Horrible conditions

Actually not too much at all. It looked somewhat nice at night with the lights. In daytime …. It’s a run down property that was once beautiful when it was family owned and run. Location is in beautiful Manchester, but I would NEVER return to the Palmer House

We encountered bed bugs and needed to change rooms which was accomplished but it was challenging.. The night was awful. I wrote to management and they were apologetic but one statement the responder made was that their rooms and doors are all outdoors and bugs are normal. If it was just a random bug that would be fine but it was not. They were all over the beds.

Nice location and nice size room.

We have been to Palmer several times since we have family in the area whom we visit. Once again we ended up in a very old, out of date room that was so depressing. We had asked for a new, renovated room when we made our reservation, and there are many, but the one they gave us was a smoking, new room so we needed to be moved to another. The staff was very nice about moving us but the only room (we guess) was one from decades ago. It was cleaned quite well but after so many years of use it seemed very grimy. Once we settled in for a nite of Vermont quiet, a party of a few families with teenagers revved up in the lobby and made some noise until midnight. We were happy they were having fun, but it was enough to unnerve us since we were in the adjoining room and the noise caused us to have several hours of ensuing insomnia. Needless to say, our one night stay was not at all relaxing and quite disappointing. I wondered why hotel management allowed a party to happen until the wee hours without making sure other guests were more removed. The gatherers seemed like very nice families with teenage boys having fun so we were happy for them and didnt want to complain, but it felt inappropriate since there wasnt any staff overseeing it. I also dont understand why Ascend hotels took this property over in recent years and then allowed it to fall apart. Why isnt it fully renovated by now?!

The location of Palmer house is quite good for roaming about Manchester or skiing nearby. The motel has nice large grassy grounds and is set off a bit from the road so its quiet. Our bed was very comfortable. IT was soft, plush and semi firm, obviously high quality. Its nice to wake up to coffee in the lobby and friendly hotel staff. Palmer seems like a great place for families and skiiers, and maybe young wedding goers. Its one of the more reasonably priced hotels in town but still not really a deal considering how old and rundown it is.
