ItalyThe bungalows are absolutely a NO-GO, dirty, old, and also around the bungalows we had construction activities, so no privacy, no silence, and no glass windows! Not reasonable for the price. We asked to get moved to the tower and was decent, but still not reasonable for 500€ per night…

United StatesI booked for Garden view room, but got a tower room instead. I booked the garden view almost 2 months prior to vacation. I was not notified of Garden view renovation and it's unavailability prior to, during, or after booking. I was only notified by staff upon checking in when we reached the Resort.
The resort itself is beautiful. The view of the Pacific and Maui mountains - even more beautiful. Loved our getaway at the resort and the Lahaina town. Staff were friendly and helpful.

United StatesI felt like the cottages needed some updating. There were some holes in the wall and bugs could get in. The walls were not sound proof. The person staying in the room next to us coughed all day and all night. Her bed must have been right across from our bathroom. it kept us awake several nights. The housekeeping needs to be addressed. I can understand every other day if it is well cleaned and on a good time schedule. Our sheets were not changed after the two days, the floor was not cleaned and we didn’t get enough coffee or tea for 2 days. Also shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and gel not consistently given. One day housekeeping came the wrong day. Another day they showed up at 5 when we were ready for showers. We had no clean towels etc and had to request them. on the 5 pm day we just got the towels and no cleaning due to the lateness. With a fee of $40 for amenities per day this needs to be improved. I was also missing my watch from our stay. The desk person did compensate us with a late stay at no charge, so I did appreciate that!
The location was wonderful! I loved all of the green space! it was quiet outside most of the time and we could hear the birds! The walking/running trails were great! I loved those classes such as Zumba, Poly fit and Zumba! All the instructors were excellent! The patio was very nice to have and the grounds were lovely with trees and flowers!

United StatesI didn't like be double charged when eating from the restaurant and I did not like that they had chipping hammer going all day right above my room and couldn't sleep the entire time I was there. Ifvthey are gonna be doing renovation it should not disturb the tenants. I talked to multiple people and they said it bothered them too.

United StatesOriginally booked a bungalow room. The bed was very uncomfortable with an unsupportive and lumpy mattress that gave me back pain after the first night. The closet doors wouldn't open, some of the blinds were broken, and the tile in the shower was cracked. These rooms should not be available for booking until after they are upgraded! After waking up with back pain, I called the front desk and the staff upgraded us to a newer tower room, which we very much appreciated! After that the stay was great, other than the lack of shade/umbrellas at both pool areas which prevented us from using those facilities.
Tower room had a comfortable bed and loved having the balcony, especially as there was no shade by either pool in the afternoons. Staff was very accommodating with a complimentary upgrade after our first night in a bungalow room and very responsive to our requests for more coffee and room cleaning. Great location, short drive to the dive shop in Lahaina!

Has all the bases covered at a reasonable price right on the ( the best stretch) Kaanapali beach. Close to Whalers Village (15-20 min beach side path walk to higher end shopping and eateries right on Kaanapali beach) and Lahaina (a drive). If looking for the W type of luxury, this is not it, more traditional, it’s definitely 4+ for what they offer, the great staff, their continued renovations, and location location location.

United StatesThe biggest disappointment was the lack of the puca shell/lei making class, which was the deciding factor for our family when booking the Royal Lahiana over other resorts. The birds at the restaurant fly right to your plate when eating. Also, the bungalow walls are too thin, we could hear our neighbors on both sides, there is no ventilation in the bathrooms, causing mold/mildew build up around the ceiling and the bugs in the bungalows were abundant.
The drinking water in the lobby was exceptional. The Valets were outstanding. The food at the resturants was excellent and the Luau was an amazing experience. The hotel is also a 10 minute to the Lahiana harbor and close to a few shopping districts.

United StatesThe rooms are a bit run down and old, wall unit air conditioners but beds were comfy. Understandably, post Covid has affected jobs but we had a few nights where our room wasn’t cleaned. With Sand and trash it was frustrating but staff was very nice about getting our room tidy.
The grounds are beautiful, beachfront property and easy access to other hotels, Black Rock and Whalers Village.
