The rooms ac unit didnt blow very cold. So I was up and down a few times trying to figure out how to cool the room off

I just got back from a resort in Florida. My expectations were low. I was pleasantly surprised by the small room. It was actually quite nice. The shower head was high which being 6'2 was nice because most places have low ones.

Breakfast was very basic, more like a snack to start the day. The room was excellent, and the beds were comfortable. However, the building requires some love and care as it looks somewhat abandoned. From the art to the paintings on the walls, it generally does not feel very welcoming. It gives the vibe that only the absolute basics are covered, but the price does not match the service provided.

The beds seemed rather new but they were the most unforgiving slabs we've ever laid on. We joked that we were sleeping on Hospital Rock and that we'd need a hospital to heal the pains we were waking with. The pillows were pathetically flimsy. The front desk attendant, while pleasant enough to speak to, looked miserable and made no effort to appear otherwise. We felt welcome enough, but his misery was palpable. Also, we walked the roads behind the lodge to see if there was river access, and while no fault of the lodge, there was no way to access the river.

We arrived very late (10 pm) and only had to ring the doorbell once to check in. The room was clean and it was apparent that updates were taking place as afforded. A simple breakfast was available each day. The convenient location offered views of the surrounding mountains. The lodge was very close to restaurants, gas stations, stores, and the entrance to the park. We could hear owls cooing at night and awoke each day to a rooster's crow.

Unfriendly front/receptionist. We were so disappointed that there are no closet nor hangers to hang clothes, nothing to hang dirty clothes too in the restrooms, no racks for clean towels and for the tissue rolls too, no suitcase rack, beds are not queen size (too small for two adults), no double pillows for each beds (only have one of each). We booked for 5 people but only have 3 towels in the restroom. My husband kept trying to ask for more towels in the morning and tried a few times to ring the bell at the reception area, waited a long time and nobody came out to answer him. It was not a well maintained lodge with an unfriendly receptionist and ignoring client’s needs. The only thing that was good in this place is location, other than that it’s not a good choice to stay for days, one night to sleep in, might be yes but I’d look anywhere else if you would like a place for a good night’s sleep!

The location is perfect just 7 mins away to the Sequoia NPS.

The kitchen was under equipped - it would have been great to have more than 2 glasses and some mugs would have been a bonus, a dish towel was needed for drying dishes, a few more utensils eg grater, colander were needed. There was no iron or board, nowhere to hang clothes and towel racks and a wall mounted toilet paper holder also needed. Although the flooring looked new it was quite dirty, given the stare of our feet. The motel is quite old and some improvements have been made but more is needed - reception is only partially restored but is a poor first impression.

The size of the suite was good. It was useful to be able to cook.

The room smelled heavily of chemical cleaner, coffee machine was dirty, sliding patio doors very broken. Lamp shades very dirty and ripped. Doors and walls were sticky, front door barely locked. Reception desk was unfinished drywall. There’s no water in the pool

These days is looks a bit run down, and needs a renovation to get it back to it's original look and feel. Still a gem in many ways, but should have that renovation. They really should just drop the breakfast, as it was quite bad.

This a a typical 1950-1960s Americana motel, having seen better days. The layout of the rooms, the decor and just the original craftmanship is all-American. Back in the day this must have been a true wonder. The receptionist was very kind, and being silly Danes we took him for a Native American, but he is in fact from Bangladesh. Getting there and driving on the landscapes were breathtaking. We were woken by wild turkeys and and some rain, giving this motel just a bit more value. We had a good night's sleep, had a few hot baths, and were on our way.

Unkempt mess of a hotel with a good location
    • Leisure trip

The hotel is incredibly run down with detritus all over the place, unfinished walls, unpainted, dirty. Mattresses stacked in the garage, the pool full of algae. And the BREAKFAST! a couple of muffins, one bagel, 2 things of cereal, no butter. The milk is left out on the counter to get warm. No juice. Quite probably the worst hotel breakfast I have ever had. The whole experience was not at all worth the high price of the stay.

The room was comfortable. The beds were nice and big and there was a fridge and oven in the room. The location to Sequoia Park could not be better, and it was close to restaurants.

The shower had a leak and the room moisture was intense. The sliding door didn't have a real lock and the bathroom door didn't shut. The pillows and the bed were hard. But overall good for a one night stay. Breakfast was included 👍🏻. If they added fruit or yogurt that would be nicer. The coffee was great! The price and staff were awesome.

The location convenience was great! The staff was amazing!

Window blinds were stained, sheets weren't properly washed. Entire hotel, exterior and interior, is a little outdated.

It's in a convenient location, close to the sequoia forest. Close by restaurants and other small shops.
