For some people, the TV might be small or whatever, but that’s not what you come to NYC for, right? Would be nice if they offered breakfast, but there are plenty options nearby so not a big deal.

I was pleasantly surprised by our stay at St James. We found a great deal for two double rooms for two families with kids in the first 3 days of January. The location is virtually right on Times Square, and I was a little afraid the rooms would be noisy, but you hardly noticed anything in our rooms. We were on the back side of the hotel, which might have helped. The rooms itself are good - nothing fancy but they get the job done. Staff was great in accommodating us in checking in early for one of our two rooms, so we could at least dump our luggage and explore the city. They don’t have breakfast, but there are a ton of places nearby, and we usually went to Cook which was next door and offers a lot of different fresh breakfast items at a great value.

You won't be able to store drinks or make a tea/coffee as they didn't have a fridge, except for the tiny table top one, and no facilities to make a hot beverage in the room. The shower was not the best- it took a long time to warm up and did not have the strongest of streams.

It was a comfortable, clean hotel. The staff were friendly and professional. If you are looking for a base for your explorations of New York, and just a place to rest your head at night, then this hotel is perfect. Its location is magic- within metres of Times Square- and its beds are a welcome respite after a busy day.

Super visible that the place is very old, was scared of the elevator 🥹🥹

Location was perfect, very near to every tourist destination! Esp the time square, just in the corner of the same block! And you can leave luggages if you check out early.

The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. They were willing to hold our bags both before check-in and after check-out so that we could explore the city more easily. The location, half-a-block from Times Square, was ideal for our visit. The lobby was comfortable and a bit chic, with luxe colors and furniture pieces. The rooms were small but clean--just what we needed for a one night stay to catch dinner and a show!

The bed was unbelievably uncomfortable. Hurt my back. It was like a rock. If you are unlucky to have the inner rooms there is absolutely no light during the day besides a strange prison like courtyard. In the bottom of this courtyard they were doing construction and breaking bricks with power drills. So loud.

Good central location but have to deal with the crowd of times square. Not my kind of area but if you are looking for the tourist things and broadway it is a great location. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The noon checkout is really nice. It's a cool old building right next to a classic Irish pub.

It was smaller and the room nextdoor was not quiet one of the nights.

The location was exceptional. We were just 1 block from the theater. We were close to Rockefeller Plaza. Joe at the front desk was very helpful and had a positive energy. The price of the room was great.The room and bathroom were very clean. There were good coffee shops close by and a convenience store just across the street.

Great location and block from Times Square - we could walk to many places. There is a 24 hr eatery with to-go meals, coffee and snacks right next door.

The view from our window was well, not the cutest one - we saw some walls and a pigeon :)) Since we stayed for 1 night only and wanted to enjoy the city, not the room with a view, it didn't matter and I am sure there are other rooms with better view. On the other hand, maybe that's the reason why the room was quiet ! I would only add more light to the bathroom. Otherwise, everything met our expectations.

The hotel has obviously quite long history which makes it really cute. The room was spacious, quiet and cozy. Bathroom was OK, beds were comfy and the staff was nice. Our flight was planned at 11pm and they offered us late check out and luggage storage for no extra fee. The location of the hotel is awesome. Overall, we liked our short stay.

The bathroom does not have a vanity, so no where to layout cosmetics, toiletries.

This was my third stay at the Hotel. I'm a repeat because of the location (in the middle of the Theatre District) and the value for the money. This time I noticed that the room had a make over/update. Keep in mind, this is a historic hotel, so only so much could or should be updated. The room (two double beds) and beds are comfortable.

Our beds were very squeaky. Rooms have clearly been refurbished recently but could just do with a bit of a homely feel, such as pictures on the wall.
