A small fridge in the room would have been helpful. Also, in the early morning hours there was quite a bit of noise under our room. I think we may have been above the kitchen/breakfast area, but it sounded like some furniture was being moved around. For how early it was, this was a bit disruptive.

We loved the room and clawfoot tub. The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. The breakfast was very good. The bar staying open until 10 pm was also very nice, as I had an obligation until about 9 pm.

Stairs were not good for me.

The property was very clean and comfortable. I did have difficulty with the stairs, but greeter at the front desk helped me. Thank you! I did have trouble finding the building for breakfast, but did figure it out. All in all, my stay was very pleasant.

Our room itself in the Gate House was lovely. However, neither of us could sleep well due to loud street noise…cars, trucks and motorcycles. Sadly, that spoiled our experience at an otherwise lovely inn.

There was noting I didn't like :) It was 115% excellent.

We had an appointment in the Middlebury area and tried to get a reservation at a B&B, but it was full, so the owner recommended Swift House and we LOVED IT!! Staff wonderful, breakfast (on a screened-in porch) and dinner in the inn delicious, corner room w more windows perfect, walk-in shower great, grounds lovely. The common rooms were welcoming with very interesting "coffee table" books. Sommelier and our waiter, Jay, were delightfully engaging, knowledgeable, and really made the experience memorable in a good way :)All in all I was VERY happy and will stay here again and recommend it to my friends.

The house itself has some interesting history. The front desk distributes a two page history detailing the former owners and evolution of the property. The common area are nicely decorated and well pointed with art, furniture, and books. The bedrooms have typical New England dormers which intersect with doors creating some customer door trim and doors

Next time would like to be in the inn or carriage house. Gate House was fine, but a bit of a pain to have to go up to the inn for ice. Carpet in our room looked like it needed cleaning. Otherwise, everything was great!

It changed a lot in a year. The room was cooled for us for when we got there and it was very hot that day. The value of what you could get to eat was different. They used to have muffins this time they had these sad cookies. The second day for house cleaning my room was never made up. The room was very small for the price. And the shower was either burning hot or cold They wouldn’t let me use my returning guest or my aaa discount because I used booking.

The staff was very nice, and when you get there you can see they clean very well.
