Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesFor such a large space, there was no AC in the room. They provided a small fan and said we could open the windows, but it didn't cool off until the sun had set. The floor was also very sticky when barefooted. I'm not sure if it was residue from past renovations or just not moped; but the rest of the room was very clean. As cool as the elevator is, its a little bit of a pain if you have large luggage or more then one bag with you. The metal doors didn't want to stay open when trying to exit and they didn't always shut when you got in.
The location was perfect and close to everything. They also have the best karaoke bar attached to the hotel itself. We got the suite and it was very roomie with large windows. I had a cake that I needed to stay chilled and the staff was very accommodating in keeping it cold since there are no mini fridges in the rooms. The coolest feature was the old fashion elevator that looks like it came straight from the roaring 20s.

United StatesNo coffee in the room (or tea or anything) was strange. It was not a cheap hotel (far, far from it) so $36 for parking, no gym (or partnership with any local gym) and $3 if you ate the potato chips was very counter to the vibe I think the hotel is trying to achieve. No way to indicate to cleaning staff that you wished to have privacy (like a please do/please do not make up my room or do not disturb sign) was also an unnecessary miss
The speakeasy style bar was excellent. The bed was comfortable (a bit low to the ground but comfy none the less).

AustraliaThe room was a little small but it is an old building so you have to be prepared for this. Also my TV was temperamental - which was fine but it may bother other guests.
I booked a petite room - and it was quite small but very well appointed. I was traveling on my own so the room size was fine for me but if you were a couple with lots of luggage it would be very cramped. I do believe that they had bigger rooms. The bathroom was large and well appointed and the location was central. It was quite hip in a lovely old building. I would return here again.

United StatesThis isn't a didn't like, just suggestions. The bathrooms could have used additional hooks for hand towels... Also, if you have a shower head that isn't adjustable, shower caps should be available for those who do not intend to wash/wet their hair while showering. Fortunately I had one with me from a different hotel stay.
Location, staff, bar, restaurant, coffee shop were all perfect. Loved the eclectic mix of furnishings! Great reuse of resources which also added character.

United StatesIt was very pricey. There is only one very small and tight elevator. It could cause some claustrophobic feelings. There was also no complimentary amenities, other than coffee.
The Dean is a very stylish, cozy hotel. It is near everything in downtown and we were able to walk to our destination. Although pricey, I would stay there again.

United StatesNo pool. No breakfast. Elevator lift very outdated. It’s kind of the theme of the place so I can’t really knock it that much, but definitely no more room than 2 to 3 people. The rooms are OK but they’re so worried about washing towels and recycling everything that it kind of made me feel a little bit diluted. They literally tell you to reuse a dirty/used towel to conserve. Lol. The rooms are OK. They are uniquely designed but I guess I just wasn’t into it that much.
Great, amazing staff. Awesome karaoke bar. Location is phenomenal.

United StatesThe room was nice, there were some really nice touches, but there were a lot of small things that were overlooked that could make the stay not as enjoyable. There was only one trash can in the room which was in the bathroom, could have used another in the main area, there was no fridge/Microwave but in my opinion there is more than enough room for a small combo unit. No soap dish in the shower, no phone in the room, and the stool in the bathroom could have been taller if it was to be used as counter space.
The location was great if you are looking for something in walking distance to the convention center. The ambiance was great like a 50 - 60s vibe. The room I stayed in was a good size plenty of seating. The art work in the room was great. There were a lot of food spots within walking distance as well. Kin is great for some soul food...

Close to venue , helpful/friendly staff, comfortable bed. Pricey for one night but I realize it was Comic-Con . However, staff gave wrong info about parking and we ended up with a big fine. They don’t automatically charge your credit card the second day you really have to pay every day.

United StatesThe hotel could not accommodate an early check-in which I attempted to arrange for noon rather than 2pm well in advance of my stay. I drove a number of hours to attend a luncheon in Providence and it would have been nice to be able to freshen up before the event after the long drive. The elevator, with a vintage gate / steampunk in aesthetic, is difficult to open and cramped while managing even a small overnight bag and reception did not offer bellhop service. I then stepped off the elevator into a hallway which was a strange, dark REDRUM lighting and color, which made me think the decor was for covering up stains. But the real problem was that when I checked in no one told me that the doors would be locked at a certain time with no reception attendant (like a B&B rather than a pricey city hotel). When I returned to the hotel after midnight there was no sign posted on the front door or number posted to call or directional of any kind or any obvious place to put my keycard to get inside. This was very frightening. Eventually, a night security person found me and let me in. Apparently, guests need to enter via the adjacent parking lot and side entrance after hours. NO ONE mentioned this to me at reception when I checked in and when I told them about my plight nicely the next day (I had left a fraught voicemail for the hotel) they shrugged it off without comment.
I drove from out of town to attend a friend's 50th birthday festivities and stayed at The Dean due to its proximity to the weekend party venues. There is a nice pull up, park and unload lane in front of the hotel which I appreciated, and an open air parking lot adjacent to the hotel with a fixed overnight rate for hotel guests. The king room was spacious for one person, and the bed was comfortable, with two courtesy boxed waters placed bedside. A capacious rain shower featured both shampoo and conditioner, and the bathroom was stocked with hand soap and and body lotion.
