We have booked and paid the apartment several months ago. Upon our arrival everything looked ok apart from dirty toilet with hair. The apartment we had booked was not like the one on the pictures. The next day furniture was moved because a plumber had come in the room without any notice from the owner. But the worst thing was the apartment was filled with cockroaches on the kitchen sink,walls, bathroom and bedroom. The owner was not surprised as he admitted there was a problem with cockroaches two days ago but thought it was solved. Only after we demanded moving to another place, we did get another room much smaller than the one we had paid for and in another building. We had to relocate though the night. This bathroom too had hair from previous use and the window of the room could not be closed properly resulting in us freezing during our stay.

It wasn’t cleaned very well which was not very nice to discover. There was dark hair on the bathroom floor, as well as between the sheets. We had nowhere else to go, so we decided to stay, but we felt uncomfortable. Also, if you plan to get any work done there or need internet for any other reason — do not stay there. The signal was so bad I couldn’t even open a website and I had to pay to go work at a WeWork instead. The area isn’t nice for tourists — dirty and not many places to eat (there some good places for dinner but virtually no breakfast places).

If you need to stay in Harlem for some reason then this is a good central size. The studio was okay size and the bathroom was decent size.

The bed was a disgrace. It was small lumpy and meant we couldn't sleep. Even the couches in the small living living area had seen better days. We did try sleeping on them because of the diabolical bed, but the springs had gone and they were lumpy. Our room was not reflected in the pictures until you scrolled all the way down.

The location was great. A couple of blocks from the subway, Apollo theatre etc. Quiet building in a tree lined street.

The building is under some kind of renovation. Therefore, it is messy. The apartment is so tiny that the only thing you can do is get inside and go to bed. The beds are very short and my husband would sleep with his feet hanging out of the mattress. Plumbing is bad. BEWARE: There is absolutely no washing machine or dryer. You will need to go down the street to a laundromat to do your laundry.

The location was convenient for us because my relatives live in the area. Otherwise, we would never have chosen this place to stay. The neighborhood was quiet, though.

Perfect communication with the owner, fully equipped kitchen, plenty of towels, blankets, pillows, super location in New York, near two subway stations, great access to JFK airport as well as Downtown. Windows to the courtyard so it was quiet at night, large enough bathroom. In the vicinity of plenty of shops, restaurants.

We were all the time with the window of the bedroom broken, and arranged in the best way possible with duct tape. On our last night due to the change in weather we felt very cold. Very far from JFK airport. Very narrow and impervious stairs to get to the floor, with a heavy suitcase to carry you risk hurting yourself very much. Structure not suitable for the disable person. At night the neighborhood is not very safe. I do not recommend the area for those traveling alone / s and want to go out at night.

The arrival was perfect, we got to the apartment very easily with the codes. And we had water and coffee for the first day, thanks for that. The accommodation is clean, large and cozy. Nice that we had a living room and a bedroom. In the kitchen and bathroom you have everything you need. The apartment is well located. Stores are nearby and the metro is not far away. We were in NY in winter when the weather was very cold. We were very happy that the accommodation had very warm heating and hot water in the shower. Overall a very good value for money and highly recommended.

The biggest thing was the door knob. I don't know how I got in the first time, but I've never been able to replicate it. Please change that lock. Someone could be stuck outside or not know to call the second number (or the guy could be asleep if someone comes back really late) Put a padded doormat on the bathroom door threshold. I almost broke my toe against the threshold because I was unaware of the height shift.

Very cozy, temperature was excellent setting, bathroom was really nice.

Neighbourhood dangerous and very unsafe. Owner couldn't care less Bookings.com need to remove this property before someone gets hurt

Bad area. Unsafe neighbourhood. The neighbour is very rude and aggressive with threats of violence. Stomping up and down stairs all night long, shouting and swearing . We had to flee in the night was that bad. We left all our belongings until daylight.
